do not buy this if it was possible to give negative stars i would
I purchased this and installed it. Been an electrical Engineer for 25 years + and worked on engines for the same amount of time and have never seen a piece of equipment fry the way this did. The inside blew apart and shorted my battery causing a fire and my golf cart is now totaled. My entire electrical system fried. Used 2 times.I want my money back and more.

Defective Product BUT great customer service
The first unit I received was defective; however, I’m giving this review 3 stars because of the prompt response from Customer Service. They not only sent me a replacement hassle free, but it arrived the very next day AND they give you like a month to return the defective unit.

Starter/Generator
I really can't give a rating because my golf cart is not charging the battery since I installed the new starter/generator so until I find out if the reason is the generator isn't working I can't comment. I am giving this company 5 stars because they are working with me to resolve my issue so they're standing behind their product.Great company!

So far, so good!
Arrived in perfect condition looking just like the one it is replacing (identical mount tab locations and electrical connections). Direct fit for my stock 2003 Club Car Pioneer 1200 350cc utility cart. Installed, it operates smoothly and quietly. So far, I'm very happy with it.

Do not buy
Bought item and had it installed on Club Car. Drove the cart for approximately 2 miles then smelled smoke. Was burning internally and then shut down. Had to be towed home.

JUNK
Starter blew up internally amd ruined the entire starter so it cannot be rebuilt. Half the rotor and windings grenaded and nearly caught my cart on fire. 6 months out of warranty on a barely used golf cart and they couldn't care less, they instead send you a link to buy another one. Don't waste your money on this.
