Rear Window Hinge Set Liftgate Glass Hinge Right & Left | Replacement for 2006-2010 Ford Explorer, Mercury Mountaineer | Replaces# 6L2Z-78420A68-A, 6L2Z-78420A69-AA

After watching a couple videos on removal and installation, it was easy to pop out the old leaking ones and pop in new ones.

Replaced hinges on 1999 ford explorer they went together easily and as advertised.

As you can see in the pictures the difference between the old and new bolts. I had to drill out a bigger hole in the roof to fit the new hinges. Also, the bolt on the glass side of the hinge is a bit longer than the old one. I noticed it bottomed out and would not tighten. I used the old ones and have had no problems. If you run into this problem use thicker hard plastic washers. A hard plastic along with a rubber one will tighten enough to hold without breaking the glass.

The ones that came with my car broke and everytime that I got a wash, the holes would cause soap and water to come in. I finally got mad enough to purchase this product and it was pretty easy to install. I was able to install it with a short YouTube video. Very sturdy aswell, 10/10!

I had the left rear glass hinge explode on my 2007 Explorer on 7/4/23. I ordered this part after watching a YouTube video on replacement. I found the partdsd to be good quality and were easy to install. They are labeled for left and right if you look at the part itself (L and R respectively which is critical for propert installation).The broken one was fairly easy to replace but the one that ewas still intact had to be drilled out as the part attached to the window was too corroded to remove and the torx head on the bolt stripped out. That was not too bad and I managed to get the bolt removed without breaking the glass, and then installing the new hinge was a BREEZE.I recommend this product.

These hinges fit ok. They are a little bit smaller than original ones but I recommend changing both at same time or you might run in to misaligned window.

Perfect! These were exactly what I needed and I should have done it sooner! I found out the hard way that the glass lift gate hinges on my '02 Ford Explorer needed to be replaced. I had noticed the bolts were rusty but I largely attributed that to being 19 years old and Michigan weather. I was unpleasantly surprised that the oem bolt gave out and sheared off when I went opened the glass to put my groceries in. Fortunately the gas struts are still going strong but holy heck they aren't easy to push back in to try to latch the glass gate. I had to go back in to get some ratchet straps to hold the glass in place long enough to get back home and quickly enough not to melt and preheat all my groceries.I bought these and they got here 2 days later. No surprise there but they are built better than the OEM and far cheaper. A quick YouTube search and I was able to get them in. The biggest issue (doing this alone) was the struts not wanting to keep in position. I used a ratchet strap as a comealong and it was a relatively easy process. If you can change your own oil and have a decent set of tools or a harbor freight nearby you can probably do this in an hour or so. Just be aware that the struts will want to push the glass down from the top and could bind or break your glass if you aren't careful. I used 2 ratchet straps one to keep the glass in from side to side and the other to bring the hole in alignment with the bolt. These saved me the hassle of finding somewhere to take it and probably an hour at whatever labor rates are now in addition to the price difference of any given auto parts store without free shipping or going to pick them up with a half attached glass door.

The product arrived in good condition. It was a bit difficult to install but I guess it was because of the wear on my truck. Overall looks sturdy and durable.
