Great portable game and emulation case for Raspberry Pi
I was looking for a case to run old retro games on the pi, and wanted both good battery life and ability to use the latest RPi 4. The other reviews indicated this was a good choice, and they were right.. and it really is a simple and nice design. The model case I got was for the pi 3 - the pi 4 has a micro HDMI port and its USB/Ethernet ports are reversed. I contacted the supplier - they responded right away and were very nice and helpful - and sent me the video adapter and offered new side panels. The HDMI adapter can also be had a for a few $ on amazon too if you don't want to wait for shipping. I ended up modifying the sides to handle the different port opening sizes myself - easy to do with a utility knife and cutter...Helps if you are comfortable doing some basic DIY stuff to take full advantage of this case, but don't let that stop you.The case is a bit large if you compare it to a game boy - but this houses a regular sized Pi, and uses two18650 batteries (w/built in charger) that give you plenty of time using it - I have large hands so for me its perfect

Solid retropie handheld, easy to put together and potential for future mods
Overall very happy with this, it's a bit boxy and some of the sharper edges might be annoying for longer games but it's super simple to put together and take apart and has a bit of room inside if you plan on trying to add or modify anything.Things I like:Screen is big, bright (or dim if you are playing in the dark), and looks greatBattery life is a sold 5+ hours with out adjustments and some old 18650s I had laying around, I think you could hit 7-8 hours with a good new pair and some tweaks.Cost is pretty good for what you get, it's easy to assemble and is perfect for getting my kid started with some minor electronics work.Complaints:My biggest complaint is the DPAD, it's pretty tough to push and doesn't feel very good after a few mins, I'm hoping it will wear in a little and get better but I've been looking at possible replacements or mods that could be done to make it better.Plugging in the USB micro (Would love to see it updated to USB-C) causes the Pi to reboot as it switches from battery to direct power, this is annoying but I'm guessing it has to do with how the battery charging circuit is designed. Can't get the Hotkey button working, this is minor as you are able to use other key combos to control retroarch but it's kind of annoying to have a useless button. I am using the driver install method rather than the image they provide, not sure if it works with their image.Improvements:It could certainly be improved by adding a joy stick as well as rear triggers (in addition to the current rear shoulder buttons it has) but the controls work well enough for older systems and portable games. Controls are still usable for some PS1 and N64 games but not ideal at all.It does get a little hot when playing PS1 or N64 games but I haven't seen it get over around 62-65 so that should be ok, I am looking to see if I can get a larger heatsink just to try and keep it a little lower. Some additional vent holes might not be a bad idea on the top.External HDMI would be a really great improvement as well, it would be nice to take this over to someone's house and be able to plug in some USB controllers and hook it up to a TV for some retro split screen. I don't know enough about the HDMI spec to know if this is possible with the older Pi's but the newer 4's you should be able to use the other HDMI and just route it to the outside of the case.If you are looking for a DIY handheld but don't have the time/skill to build one this will get you up and running in no time flat and leaves the door open to lots of mods and customization if you want to extend it further.

Fried pi 4 after one day of use.
I just got it all set up. Found the needed driver for the controller. The hotkey somehow didn't work with the MKarcade driver. Just sat down for a session of gaming and just played for a few minutes then the screen went dark. Thought it was just a bad image. Tried reflashing the card. Nothing happened. Come to find the pi 4 8gb model had basically quit working. So I tried to troubleshoot the issue. It ended up basically a dead unit. A total loss. I wonder if the maker had accounted for the ground pin being in a different spot on the GPIO pin header thus ending in a ruined unit. You get extra stuff in this kit. Still you shouldn't have to do extra work with a simple set up kit. It should work as intended. That's what Raspberry Pi is all about. Plug and play. I'm returning the hardware disappointed. And at a 100 dollar loss of a ruined pi 4. I honestly liked the idea. Just wish it lasted more than 1 day. Not worth the money.

Good Product..buut
Rpi 4 inside can get a little warm, might be ideal to to some DIY vent and fan attachments for airflow

Missing items when shipped
Did not come with hdmi connector A. It shows it in listing, only connector for hooking up pi4. Had to order connector from another web site.

Great piece of hardware on the inside, the outside has things left to desire
Overall a nice piece of kit, just set your rpi 4 right in and a couple 18650s and you are set, buttons are pretty ok, but the d-pad wobbles and squeaks, not a huge deal, but definitely a quality concern if you like good quality button controls. The speaker is bad, it just doesn't make much noise and sounds like a tin can when peaking, the screen is pretty decent for it's size and 480x800 is enough for what it is.Let me discuss the elephant in the room, the acrylic construction. If you get any of the other kits which have molded ABS plastic, you can expect that they will be lightweight and fairly rigid and not fracture into a few pieces on impact. The acrylic construction on this has a lot of weakpoints, and i have already had to superglue one of the fragments back to it, not optimal at all, it would have been cool if they had done it as a transparent case option and had ABS plastic for the opaque one, but that's not the case. One of the other downsides to the acrylic case is that it gives it an uncomfortably boxy shape. It's great proportions and layout wise, the buttons are in the right places, it's just that it tends to be a bit awkward getting your fingers to wrap around it's boxy shape. Is it worth $85? depends on whether you have a rpi 4 sitting around and you want to use it, although if you don't have one to begin with, i would consider a RetroFlag GPi compute module 4 kit since it's the same price, smaller, uses more durable plastic instead of acrylic, has USB C, higher resolution screen, a dock option which lets you use hdmi.
