Perfect strike plate when a wider space is needed
I had an issue where the bolt from my door lock became slightly misaligned are a decade of use. I bought a replacement lock but the issue remained. The strike plate needed to be a few millimeters wider. I tried moving the plate to the right slightly with new holes but then the bolt was being forced too far and jammed (due to friction) against the wood in the hole. My temporary solution was to remove the plate completely but it left the lock insecure. Then I found this little gem on Amazon in my search for a strike plate with a wider hole. It's actually two parts that are meant to be used together to strengthen the lock when bolted. However, in my case I only needed the wider piece. I installed it with a normal Phillips head screwdriver in minutes and it worked perfectly! It solved my issue with the bolt not being properly aligned while keeping the lock secure. A double win! I highly recommend this sturdy strike plate if your bolt is not quite aligned and you just need one with wider spacing.

Just the Right Strike Plate when needing wider space for the Bolt
Thank goodness for Amazon reviews, these are a wealth of knowledge when ordering and installing items like this strong strike plate. I read user MARC PERSAD's description of his problem which was identical to mine, thus knowing this product was what I needed to buy. I then applied user NICK M.'s very sage advice to install the strike plate with no problem, using my simple tools I have on hand. Thank you handymen reviewers ! Thank you seller for a good strong product !

Decent, but fasteners could be better
I took 1 star off for a couple of reasons. First was that the package was open when I received it. Not a big deal as all the parts were in the shipping envelope. The bigger issue are the longer screws. The head strips very easily as has been mentioned in other reviews.

Solid plate, poor hardware
The included mounting screws stripped almost immediately, even with pre-drilled holes. The strike plate itself seems very sturdy, but take extra care when using the included screws. I ended up buying much shorter screws.

Installing the screws
Some comments on the screw heads stripping out. A valid concern/problem. As others have mentioned, using the correct sized bit is very important. Pre drilling is also important. And one other pointer I have found to be extremely helpful is to use an impact driver to install the large screws. Makes a huge difference. Just don’t get too carried away as it nears bottoming out. From experience. Good luck!

Solved the sticking bolt issue
The media could not be loaded. My new condo: the front door lock was changed to a pin pad type. Unfortunately, the bolt rubbed/stuck all the time and drained the batteries in the pin pad dead bolt. Sometimes the door would not lock at all. So I got this and it solved it. The dead bolt has plenty of clearance all around and it slides easily. No more issues with the pin pad lock. Press it once when I leave and the dead bolt slides over and locks. No issues. Peace of mind and also the batteries will last a really long time again. What I don't understand though, is why the 2 metal pieces aren't both nickel. I order nickel and only needed the one piece that sits in the jam side. Unfortunately that comes in brass colour with an odd set of holes and rounded corners. But because it serves the purpose so well I live with it. I might paint it white so it works with the white door frame.
