I was impressed with how easy it was to add my old VCR and DVD Player to my new 2021 Samsung OLED TV model QN65Q60AAFXZA by using this 2 port AV to HMDI Converter. For your information, the new 2021 TV's only have 3 HMDI inputs. I needed 4 inputs for all my accessories. The main problem with the new 2021 TV's is that it is hard to get them to recognize and accept old technology such as a vintage VCR or DVD Player. The "Converter Box", once attached , enabled the TV to immediately discover the old Players and properly install them. The other thing I liked about the "Converter Box" is that it has an on/off switch, which enables the owner to turn the Box off when it is not in use. It also surprised me with how good the VCR picure looked after attaching it to input 2 of the "Converter Box". In my opinion, this "Converter Box" is well worth the money and shoul be on your shopping list if you intend to attach old accessories to your new 2021 TV.

Had more sets of component (red, white, yellow) cables than available inputs on my TV display, so shopped for a switching device to consolidate and transmit to an available HDMI input. This unit fits my need and performs as advertised for both audio (CD changer) and video (old Laserdisk system, if you can believe that). It allows for either a 4:3 or a 16:9 picture format, and it includes an HDMI patch cable. Delivery was quick and well packaged. It solved my problem with older audio/video components, and the price was quite reasonable, too. Heartily recommended.

I have a 4k TV that let me connect rca/composite video via this breakout av cable/adapter but it just stopped working. So i wanted something that would let me connect rca (mostly my PS2 and gamecube) via HMDI and *keep the 4:3 aspect ratio*. This does that and nothing more. I guess it is technically upscaling the picture to 720p/1080p but uh, you won't really be able to tell, it just looks like composite video. And thats what i expected at this price point so that's fine.If you have a modern TV that accepts composite you probably don't need this, your tv's built in upscaler is probably just as good/better. But if you need to connect an old device to a TV that only accepts HDMI, this will do the job.Oh last thing, the picture seems kind of dark? Although it might have just been the games i tried.

This is easy to hook up, and my kids got it right away. So far so good.

I have a smart TV, a dumb DVD player, and an even dumber VHS all connected to this device. Yes I’m a dinosaur. I love my old devices that still work and this device allows me to almost seemlessly use either device with a flip of a switch. It works for me. Set up was a bit confusing but I figured it out in a couple minutes. Works great!

Not comparable with N64. I actually have two N64’s and neither work and made sure to try both sets of cords my N64’s have. Oddly this little sega emulator works and i confirmed that it worked on both sets of component inputs, to make sure one side of this product wasn't just broken. Not sure why but didnt work on my N64 at all? Returning.

this item works as stated just what i needed

A lot of people said this would be an upgrade in picture quality to the cheap AV2HDMI boxes found just about everywhere — not exactly. It uses the same ms1858e IC that those units are currently using.That being said, it did make composite sources (Super Nintendo, Playstation, and VCR) look better than the stock composite inputs on my 5+ year old Samsung smart TV. No weird flicker and if there’s any lag, I can’t really tell. However, the stock composite input on my 1 year old Hisense TV has significantly better picture quality than this box.Having two sets of input jacks on a switch is useful, too. Metal is durable and probably a better solution than the plastic on other units, but it does get warm. Might put some sort of cheap heat sink on the board.We’ll see how it holds up with more use, but for now it’s getting the job done, just don’t expect a big improvement in quality.
