Nice light and fan setting options, however control switch stopped working after 5 months
Fan was installed as part of bathroom remodel so installation was easy. Contractor said it would not be easy if done as a retrofit. Nice design and worked great for 4.5 months, then the control switch stopped working properly. The power light can be turned on, but light and fan buttons no longer respond. I have contacted support to see if this issue can be resolved. Will follow up this review after to add info on explanation and customer service.update - 4/7/23After filling out web form for customer support with my issue, I received an email telling me that they will send a replacement control switch. It is back ordered so should be here by month's end. Since it is a guest bathroom, it is not an issue for me. I will update again once the new switch arrives and installed. Rating upped from 1 to 3 stars.update - 5/9/23Received replacement switch a week ago and installed it myself today. Everything works fine and thanks to the company for standing behind their product and customer service response. I love the features on this fan and we shall see if this new switch last. I have attached an internal picture of the bad switch. Looks like it was made in 2020. Upped rating to 5 stars.

Powerful! Great fan!
This thing is super powerful, it's also whisper-quiet.The cons:-Installation was a challenge because the braces only come out in 3 places. It's a heavy fan, so bracing it on 3 points isn't enough. Also, my previous attic fan was against the joist so when I butted the fan up against the joist it pushed the back end of the brace to overlap the duct opening (figuring this out only once I was in the attic holding the dangling fan, I crudely bent the brace to clear the duct outlet). Then on the opposite side of the fan, the braces weren't long enough to reach the other joist so I had to add blocking, and it wasn't sturdy enough to keep it in place so I had to secure it from below. There were no other attachment options from within the attic forcing me to drill up from the underside into the drywall ceiling and wood boards that I added to the sides. On the underside of the fan (the side that points into the bathroom), the holes to drill it up into the ceiling are only on 3 sides of the unit. Again, not ideal to keep it secure. If I was installing this professionally for someone else and wanted it to look perfect, I wouldn't choose this fan because it requires a lot more blocking and bracing and slows down installation and makes it look less professional.-The status light is pretty bright in a dark bathroom. It looked like my toilet was being beamed up by a UFO in the middle of the night. I covered the light with tape.-In retrospect, I would have bought a fan that has adjustable humidity levels that turn it on. The 60% humidity level that turns it on and the high power of the fan empties out all heat and humidity and in the winter makes the bathroom pretty cold during the shower (something that, in retrospect, I don't like).PROS:-This thing is powerful. It kicks on automatically (if in that mode) exactly as described. I like that it's also manual if desired. (After one shower with it running automatically, I decided I'd use it manually from now on because it takes ALL of the warm air out of the room quickly - I guess I don't like showering in a cold room after all)-Seriously super quiet.-This is sturdy and well-packaged. Amazon shipped it in the original packaging and it was secure and arrived without damage.Giving it 5 stars because for some, this is a great fan. For me, it's ok. But not the fault of the manufacturer or seller so I think it deserves 5 stars.

Motion light always turns off after 20 to 25 seconds
Please note: It appears Amazon groups Homewerks bathroom lights and fans under the same review heading regardless of the product features. This review is for the Smart Bathroom Ventilation fan, Model 7146-80-MSo On the surface this light/fan combination appears to be the perfect solution for bathroom lighting and ventilation. It has motion activated lighting that switches automatically to a nightlight when it senses very low ambient light. This function worked well for me. Not sure how well it would work in a bathroom without a window. It also has an automatic fan that activates when it senses high moisture.o The following information was based on installing the original product shipped from Amazon as well as one replacement light and sensor and one additional complete unit. Both replacement items were provided by Homewerks.o The motion sensing light activates as expected. However, it only stays on for 20 to 25 seconds before turning off. If additional motion is sensed, it will come back on and extinguish again in 20 to 25 seconds. Even if the motion is constant it still turns off and instantly turns back on. This is very annoying. Because this product is designed to be used in a bathroom the designers must know users wont always be moving about.o The moisture sensing fan will turn on and run for about thirty minutes when it senses high moisture. However, it does not turn on soon enough to be useful. The purpose of a bathroom fan is to keep moisture from forming in surfaces which will cause damage over time. If the fan does not start until the room is filled with steam it is too late and the damage is done.o The two automatic features have no adjustments other than manual/automatic. Other motion lights typically have sensitivity and activation time settings. Other moisture sensing controls have a sensitivity control.o The wall control unit does not have a back light which negates manual control of the lighting. Because the control is a flat panel with multiple buttons, it is not possible to casually turn the light on without looking at it as we had done for so many years. The Homewerks team tried to do there best to resolve the problems by shipping replacement parts. Unfortunately they were unable to resolve the problem.
