I became lazy in my old age and stop making chestnuts. I came upon these and decided to try them. I am so hooked on them. They do smell like cat food but they taste like regular chestnuts that I made during holidays. I’m hooked on them. By the way so is my cat lols

100% recommended ! They were delicious and I'm going to orden more, Chestnuts has so many health benefits.

My first try was the Galil brand. Chestnuts and inside of the bag were coated in some unknown sticky, yellow slime. Also they were sweet like candy yet no sweetner was listed. Thought I would try this Gefen brand and what a difference. The inside of the bag was totally dry. Chestnuts were slightly moist but no trace of that yellow sticky slime. And the sweetness level is slight as it should be. I just ordered 24 bags and as a plus, most were huge and unsplit. No complaints with the Gefen brand.

I bought few times of this chestnuts but this time it’s dry, i wish there’s a little bit juice. I will try to buy again next time.

I am writing to share urgent feedback regarding product quality and safety concern. I feel obligated to provide detailed feedback based on my recent experience.I purchased approximately $200 worth of mixed nuts through Amazon, including pistachios, walnuts, cashews, pecans, hazelnuts, pine nuts, almonds, Brazil nuts, pumpkin seeds, and chestnuts. I carefully combined over 2 pounds of these nuts into each of two clean, dry, and sanitized plastic containers for storage. So I can enjoy a little bit of this nut mix every day.Unfortunately, within 4–5 days, I discovered a significant food safety issue. The chestnuts in both containers had developed visible mold, which subsequently spread to the surrounding nuts, rendering the entire batch unsafe for consumption. Specifically, dry and crisp pumpkin seeds became unexpectedly soggy, signaling a problem. Upon closer inspection, dark mold was evident on the chestnuts.This incident led to the disposal of over 4 pounds of nuts, resulting in financial loss and significant concern about the potential health risks associated with mycotoxins produced by mold.Recommendations for Improvement:Include a prominent warning on chestnut packaging advising against mixing them with other nuts due to their higher moisture content and susceptibility to mold. We do not realize the danger even if we see that the chestnuts are humid (wet) inside the package.Provide clear storage guidelines to help consumers minimize the risk of contamination and spoilage.Consider enhanced quality control measures to ensure the freshness and safety of chestnuts during transportation and storage.I have attached a photo to document the issue where it shows that everything went into the garbage can. I trust that you will take this matter seriously to prevent similar occurrences and ensure the safety of your customers.Adam.

Well worth the cost. I’ve ordered them many, many times. The quality is always excellent.

Love them, stay fresh in fridge for long time

I was hesitant to buy these but am happy I did! I will definitely buy them again! It's so hard to get fresh chestnuts and they are always so expensive. You never know what they will be like either. I like to snack on them and use them in some dishes.
