So Far Not So Good
The media could not be loaded. So far I am disappointed by the quality of the kayak. The hull and seats are very nice. The pedal drives and paddles not so much. The paddles are very cheap. My model kayak is a tandem with two seats and pedal drives. One of the pedal drives was manufactured incorrectly such that you need to "pedal backwards" in order to go forward. In addition, both pedal drives exhibit a very loud clanking sound when pedaling faster than a slow walk (see video). Finally, the kayak is VERY heavy and wide. I understand that this is technically a "fishing kayak" and designed to stand on, but given the width, it is almost impossible to effectively paddle the kayak unless your paddles are placed vertically into the water.I've opened a support ticket with BKC to see if I can get the pedal drive issue corrected. Depending upon the quality of the support I get I will update my review accordingly. Support claims a 24-48 hour turnaround time. It's been about 72 hours and I'm still waiting for some sort of response. If I cannot get satisfaction I will be returning the kayak to Amazon.Update:After not getting a response from BKC I started calling them again. Finally I go a support specialist who was very nice and agreed that the pedal drives were defective and has initiated the process of shipping me new drives. The process is that they are shipping new drives with a return label for the defective drives. The specialist indicated that there is a steel reinforced nylon belt in the drive. The belt has nylon teeth. The belt connects the pedal gear to the drive gear (think a bicycle chain). When you put pressure on the pedals (i.e. pedal fast) the belt "skips" over the gear creating the clanking sound. I am very concerned that this problem will not be addressed by the new drives given this design. I am also concerned that over time, the skipping of the belt on the gear will wear the drive belt to eventual failure. Will update once I get the new drives.UPDATESo I waited almost a month with numerous calls to BKC support. They finally told me that the "warehouse" had some unidentified shipping issues with certain orders and that my order would be shipped out in the next couple of days. Low and behold I got my order... sort of. The order was for 2 replacement pedal drives. The paperwork said 2 replacement pedal drives. The support staff said 2 replacement pedal drives. I got 1 replacement pedal drive. So now I need to get back on the phone and listen to very annoying seagull background audio while I try to get BKC to once again get my order right. Not a good experience so far for a $2.2K purchase.

Big, heavy, stable, AWESOME kayak
If you are a US Service member you may want to contact BKC directly before purchasing.Awesome boat. My wife and I had a fantastic time the first day we took it out. The pedal system is easy to set up and works amazing. The pedals are easy to pull up when they get wrapped up with weeds. You can also go without the pedals entirely if preferred. The cupholders in the center consoles (which happen to be the covers over the pedal holes) are too shallow to be useful, I'll be modifying that. The built-in rod holders are as expected. The rudder is easy to install and works well. It appears that the rudder control could be changed from port to starboard, but I haven't confirmed that yet.BKC designed the kayak with four plastic mounting points for whatever accessories you may want to bolt on, such as a fish finder or GPS, so that you don't have to drill holes in your brand new boat (I did anyway for paddle holders, more on that later). We used TMS Kayak Canoe Jon Boat Carrier, it worked but caused almost as much aggravation as it relieved. It's not wide enough and the shape doesn't work well with this kayak's channel hull. I cut 2 pieces of pvc just a bit longer than the kayak is wide, capped them, and used hose clamps to attach these pieces to the top of the boat carrier, allowing the kayak to sit on top of the carrier. Works perfect. We bring the carrier with us when we go out on the water. This kayak NEEDS wheels. It is heavy, and I don't think dragging is too good for the hull or the rudder. Empty it weighs 100lbs, with pedals and your gear it will be way over that. And, if you have to portage it far from the launch, you will really be happy if you have your wheels with you.I think this kayak is nearly un-tippable. I plan to carry a strap to assist righting it if we ever do tip it, and I suspect it may require two people to right it. If you plan to use it for swimming or snorkelingWe were both able to get back in the boat after a little swim, but it wasn't graceful. I've since made an assist/step/handhold that drops in a fishing rod holder. Works perfect. See picture. The included paddles work well enough, they separate at the middle, and may be connected with the blades straight or offset. The kayak doesn't have paddle holders. You will want to add paddle holders, I used Norme 6 Pieces Kayak Paddle Leashes and Kayak Paddle Clips. The clips require you to drill 2 half-inch holes to mount each clip, but they held our paddles solid through repeated use all day, they hold the BKC included paddles VERY tight, but you can secure and retrieve your paddle one-handed and that is a big plus. And, you WILL want your paddles! Because moving against the current it may take both riders pedaling and paddling to make headway. I urge caution taking it out with a single rider if you may end up against a current. I'll devise a trolling motor to assist if I ever do desire to take it out alone. We transported to the water on my wife's car using the HandiRack - Universal Inflatable Roof Rack, Yakima Heavy Duty Straps to strap down the kayak, Seattle Sports Sherpak Quick Loops and Seamander Kayak Tie Down Straps to secure the bow over the engine hood. Note- the HandiRack comes with straps and ropes, but the Yakima buckles are rubber armored, and the Seamander ropes have built-in cam tighteners ... totally worth it.The seats are adjustable and comfortable. They adjust for leg reach to the pedals. They are removable, but not really designed to be removed like to be used as beach chairs. My only complaint with the seats is that they can't be flipped rearwards to open up the flat floor space. It's because of how they adjust for leg-reach to the pedals, and I'll probably devise a mod to solve this very minor problem. The seats do flip forward, and that's how we transported it on the roof (we stowed the pedals and paddles in the car trunk, not on the roof). The seats were flipped forward and with a short loop of elastic cord secured so they wouldn't flip up.There are two small storage hatches. under the seats... maybe a place for car keys, cell phone, and wallet. but that's about it, and they aren't really convenient to get too, but they did stay bone dry. The large front hatch is just that, it is large, it is at the very front. It seemed to stay dry. We kept a waterproof bag behind our seats. That worked well enough, and we figured if we flipped- our stuff would float.I haven't tried a crate in the storage deck at the rear. The storage deck is a little small and you won't fit both a crate and a cooler. Also, be careful how the deck gets loaded, too much pressure on top of that black disk in the deck will make your rudder hard to control. I'll probably come up with a mod to fix that too.The bow and stern handles are bolted on, the side handles are molded in. All are black rubber covered. So, while comfortable, they can get hot (why does anybody use black on these boats?). This kayak is big enough though it really could use a few more handles, both to maneuver it for loading as well as re-entering from the water.I think that's it. Bow to stern, deck to hull. I think I covered every system on this kayak. It really is awesome, and I think it is a good value in the market for what is included.I will update this review with any mods I perform, and if anyone has any mod suggestions to share feel free to post in reply to my review. Thanks."Kan du alltid slå merke til deg.May you always hit your mark."

Great Two Person Kayak!!
Purchased this kayak just prior to Labor Day weekend, and we love it! Arrived with some minor damage due to poor packaging, but nothing major. The kayak is just as advertised. The seats are very comfortable, with loads of adjustments to get the position just right. Easy to paddle with one person as you see in the picture. Add the pedal and propeller mechanisms, and you can really get this kayak moving regardless of wind or current. I used the pedals to keep myself in place while fishing and it worked great! If you're looking for a really nice two person kayak with loads of versatility this is it. My only concern is the weight. Due to the size it definitely takes two of us to load and carry. Minor trade-off for the features and versatility.

Very cool kayak
Very cool kayak. We took it out on our first fishing trip. Very sturdy and is easy to stand up in. The pedal system is a life saver. I hope they come out with some more accessories like rail systems so you can attach other equipment like a fish finder or go pro, flag and or lights. Very satisfied overall. Love it and can’t wait to get back out there.

very heavy
The Good: Very stable, sturdy, tracks great, very comfortable adjustable seats, pedal drive works well, great load capacity. The Bad: Very heavy, difficult to lift above the head to place on roof rack, will require two people. Difficult to steer with the undersized rudder (at least in making sharp turns). Delivery was two weeks later than anticipated. Propeller blade was broken off with first use, and while I was advised that it would be replaced under warranty, the replacement part has yet to arrive. I hope that getting other replacement parts does not take as long...
