Got insomnia?
This book will make you forget about insomnia and read about various murders in Hollywood, some of which still remain unsolved. The book continues to remind us that "all that glitters in not gold"in tinseltown as well as in life. Great book.

Good book
I enjoyed this book and it's definitely worth reading however I would have given it 5 stars if the victim Steven Parent wasn't omitted from the Sharon Tate story. I'm not sure if there was a particular reason for not mentioning the first victim at the scene, but he should have been brought up. He was a person, with a name and he shouldn't be forgotten.

Interesting stories
It was a little short, but I think a little too simplistic for my interests. I would have liked a little more detail on the actual crimes. Still a good read for anyone not familiar with the stories.

Good info, poor editing
I appreciated the stories, although I would have enjoyed more in depth information. Most of what is in here is pretty much common knowledge for a "crime buff." It may be that the author didn't devote much time to researching his subjects because most of what I read was already known through newspapers and TV coverage.I am very particular when I read, and if there are repeated geammatical errors I find it almost painful to finish the book. AS picky as this sounds,I found this book fristrating because of the overuse of commas. Sentences were sometimes hard to decode because there are commas put in unnecessarily. Lots of commas! This kind of thing really bugs me (my mom was a professional proofreader in the pre-spell check era) and makes it hard to stay with the story. The plethora of misplaced commas really makes this book hard to read.

Hollywood Is A Very Dangerous Place if You’re Not Careful
A very enjoyable and informative book that covers the deaths of many famous people and the murder of people by famous people. The case of the famous chef who killed his actress girlfriend is appealing because of the extremely low punishment he received. A crime of passion should be treated like any other murder resulting in either a very long prison sentence or a trip to death row.

A Good Overview
Smith doesn't dig too deeply into the minutiae of the crimes presented here, but you won't go wrong if it's a good, interesting survey of the cases in question. The glamour of Hollywood can't protect its denizens from some pretty sordid crimes.

Poorly written and lacking detail
This book is riddled with misspellings, grammatical errors, and the author can’t even get the names correct in some of the stories. It lacks detail and reads like a collection of hastily written news articles. In other words, don’t bother.

Interesting cases
These are brief case studies of Hollywood celebrities who were murdered, although some of them were declared suicides. I was surprised that Sal Mineo was not included. He was a bigger star than some of those mentioned, and his death was unquestionably a homicide. Maybe it's because he wasn't murdered in Hollywood.Anyway, I found these cases interesting, in some cases even shocking.65
