I bought this for my 40G Axolotl tank. My basement was keeping the temperature at 69.4. Axolotls need temps between 60-67 to thrive. I kept hearing I could either buy a chiller ($250+) or I could buy one of these fans... I thought about getting the double headed fan vs the four headed one, but decided that I'd rather have too much than not enough.Initially I ran the fan on high and within 4 hours my temps had dropped to 66.9! I was ecstatic! I lowered the fan to low and 36 hours later my water is holding steady at 63.3! That's crazy! No chemicals, no refrigerants involved, just plain old air! Amazing!On high, it can be a bit loud - but it's a hum loud, like a fan (duh!) - nothing obnoxious. On low it's a quiet hum and it's nice for us because it's in our bedroom, and who doesn't like a bit of white noise while they sleep?!I am VERY satisfied with my purchase and am glad I did it!! $35 for something that makes my babies thrive, I'll do that all day long!

Bought this because my old fan broke. Makes a even wide air current that’s great for any hot aquarium. Cooled my aquarium down by several degrees. Great price and same day shipping as well. All fans working great so far. Would recommend to any aquarium owner.

I had to return it. I have a 20 gallon tank and the water temperature wasn’t even going down a degree. I was also scared that it was going to fall in the water. It was as sturdy as I hoped. Might work for a smaller tank but then again I’m not sure.
