Extremely helpful!
Anyone looking to make your soap making hobby into a business this is the book for you, I read this author's other soap making book along with a couple of other similar ones. I love making soaps, and now I want to make it into a part-time home business. This book came in very handy as it talks about all the laws and regulations for soap and many other cosmetics type items and how they should be labeled and packaged. I had no idea that there are so many regulations (easy to follow) till I read this book. Very informative.

Just what I needed!
Listening to other people only confused me, I have checked on few websites but that just added more to my confusion as most of them had different information regarding labeling laws. But after reading this book I realized some of these information/laws have changed recently. The author claims to keep us updated of all new and upcoming changes. This book has correct info all in one place. Very informative! Newcomers need this!!! I know I needed this!

Good for curious beginning soapers, I suppose
There's not much here. General information easily found via searches. Mostly a generic overview. Suitable for curious beginning soapers, but when it comes time to get serious about labeling, there's nothing here to explain WHERE the required information goes... front label? back label? font sizes? I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone who's determined to meet all criteria prior to selling / marketing soap.

Where do I begin?
This is my most disappointing buy of the year. I just started making soap to sell and decided to get this book so I would do everything right. Beforehand, I had read many articles online, but I was waiting for this book, which I believed would be the official "Holy Grail" of soapmaking rules and regulations. Nope! You can get way more accurate information online, with examples, references, and citations. For example, true soaps do not require an ingredienst label, but this book won't just come out and say that, which I find deceptive. And this soap labeling part is just 1 and a half pages of the whole wordy mess. Save yourself the time and trouble, please, and go to the FDA website.
