The first one they shipped me was glitchy. It kept showing weird measurements, for example flipping to 130DB in a completely quiet environment. It was really distracting and completely unusable. I tried recalibrating it several times per the instructions. No luck.But I liked the large numbers so much (really easy to read from across the room) that I decided to give it another chance and exchanged it. The second one worked perfectly right out of the box with no issues.I use it in my office when I'm on Zoom calls for work. I tend to speak loudly at the computer and this helps me moderate my volume so the rest of the household doesn't get frustrated. The display includes a color coding of green/red/yellow emojis, so it's easy to tell when your volume exceeds the acceptable threshold.Highly recommended!

Needed this device because a neighbor was complaining about hearing noise bleeding through a common wall from my home theater. This device allows me to monitor the decibel level in real time and adds objectivity to any perceived issues. Easy to set up and use. LED display is easy to read from a distance. No problems with the meter so far. This particular brand was also $10 cheaper than a competitor on Amazon for the same product.

Update 3/13/2024: raised to 3 stars; the seller contacted me & told me how to recalibrate the meter - it didn’t work so they sent me a replacement unit which, so far, is accurate according to my apple watch. See the third picture where I have the original & replacement meters side by side, the new one is on the right. I will update again after a week to make sure it continues to be accurate.1 star: It worked really well for the first 2 days. On day 3 it started registering very high readings at all times even in a very quiet room.

Excellent durable product and useful information

it works fine . I have multiple stereo systems, so i gives me the decibel level each system puts out at different volume levels. the battery takes 24 hours to charge , but it will work while charging Which is annoying when i want to move it around . I do like the temp and humidity readouts. There is a formula to determine the watts output of an amplifier. it is complicated and i do not understand it. but 60 DB is 3 watts.

The meter I received is off by 11-23dB. I set it up with two other meters for verification in a room running 80 dB. This meter jumped between 91 and 103 without any apparent cause or reason. After a few minutes, it leveled off around 94. It is not remotely accurate. Also, the temperature gauge is off by about 5 degrees. I would recommend buying something else if you need precise measurements.

I am revising this review because the seller did a really good job of resolving my complaint about the first meter I had failing just after its return period. I wanted to issue a buyer beware on the return polity for it and the seller reached out to me and corresponded with me in a timely manner. The meter itself is exactly what I needed and will do what most people anticipate it will. The tempurature and humidity shown is a plus. I want to thank DP Global and let everyone know that they made it right with me after my first meter failed. I've had other disputes where the seller didn't attempt to do anything for me and so kudos are worth handing out when a seller does the right thing.

The media could not be loaded. My students had no idea just how loud they can get. Now they can see, monitor, and regulate their voices. Ideal class noise level should be between 55 to 60 dB. When they see they often approach 70 to 90 bB, I tell them this is where you start having long-term hearing loss.

Looks brilliant and fun to watch if that's your thing but some of the measurements are a bit mad. You can calibrate it somewhere quiet but it still said my bedroom was 98odd dBA at 4am today so either I was missing something dramatic going on under my nose or it's not the most accurate device in the world. The fast response mode is a bit less extreme but is a bit too busy to have on and not distract people.I think it will grow on me more

I bought this to put on the wall behind my sons gaming computer. He gets playing games with a headset on and gradually gets louder to the point of yelling while playing online. I set it up so that all he sees are the faces. He knows that green or yellow are ok but if they go orange or red he is too loud. We used to get into arguments because he would get upset when he was told he was being too loud. Since i put this in place there hasn't been a single argument and we aren't being disturbed.

Very basic product with no options, can’t switch units of temperature, decibel meter is ok but could have added a graph over time as value changes often and it’s hard to tell the real value in time…could have added more info to the panel for the price..
