This standing knife holder is sturdy and holds the knives in place. It has two sides that can be used. Holds firmly and displays nicely.

This is a really handsome product. And it looks so good filled with a good set of knives. It is handy and easy to use. The magnets securely hold the knives, but they are still easy to extract.It is quite tall and would probably not fit under a cabinet. So think about where this would go before purchasing. I have it on a peninsula so there are no overhanging cabinets. If I put it under the cabinets, I would not be able to lift out long knives without leaning it over. Still this is a small quibble for a terrific product.

So the only downside is obvious: the wood can be scatched when inserting knives. There's only one way to escape that, be gentle/mindful when inserting blades.Everything else is better than expected; taking up less counter space than my old knife block, while not requiring drilling holes into the wall, strong magnets uniformly placed so knives stay where you want (knives don't scoot around finding the magnets)Nice product at a low price - TY for delivering exactly what was offered/promised.

I can fit 13 knives, including two big chopping knives and a bread knife, in this two-sided knife holder. There is a slot that looks like it's for a cutting board, but I use it to store a wide sandwich spreader. It's very convenient to have all my knives in one spot.I bought it to replace a slanted knife block that couldn't accommodate all my knives. The slanted version had the advantage of allowing me to place it on the counter top AND under the wall-mounted cabinets . This knife holder, because you place and remove the knifes from the top, doesn't work under the cabinets-- there's not enough clearance for pulling out a knife. So I placed it further away from the back wall, clearing the cabinets. Perhaps that's a disadvantage if you have young kids. I suppose, if you don't want the knife block close to the edge of the counter, you could store it under the cabinets but pull it out to select a knife.I'm really happy to have all my knives in one place. VERY convenient. Plus, the transparent screen allows you to see just what knife you're choosing -- a big advantage over those slanted-style blocks. (Plus helps keep the knives clean.I can see scratches on the wood surface forming, from putting the knives in, but that doesn't bother me so much, compared to the compactness and convenience of this design.Very happy with this purchase and with the convenience and organization it brings to my kitchen.

I love this product. It looks great on the cabinet and at the same time being functional.

My wife is a quite frankly terrified of knives and the original packaging for my chef knife has turned to dust. I'm sure this situation is fairly common and I can assure you guys out there, this is really nice solution. The magnets in the unit are just the right strength, where the knifes are held securely, but you don't need to apply an unsafe amount of force to get them back out. The plastic cover keeps the edges of your knives out safely out of reach and all around this thing just does what it is supposed to. The only minor gripe I have is that you have to be a little more careful when you put longer knifes onto the block as it's fairly easy to scratch the wood, but again, this is more user error than anything. I'd also prefer the softer wood construction than something was going to mangle my knifes anyways.

Despite the shrink wrap and styrofoam there still were dings and cracks. I included two pictures of the unaffected area for comparison.But I am grateful that it wasn't any worse and that's possibly due to the styrofoam and shrink wrap ironically. So that's something.....
