Works as expected
Reasonably easy to fit to a Mitsubishi ASX, I could not get the tailgate inner panel off so worked through the gap when the lower edge was loosened and the bulb changing access panel was removed. As the wires to the reversing light were quite thin I connected the power cable using a military splice then used insulating tape to cover the exposed wires. Replaced the power cord to the sat nav with the one supplied with the camera as it has the receiver for the camera signal. Once powered up and gear lever put into reverse the sat nav screen changed to the rear view. Camera adjustment is easy using the supplied Allen key. The instructions to adjust the guide lines are easy to follow. The sat nav takes a couple of seconds to change to camera view when reverse is engaged. The picture is not 1080 HD but clear enough for use, I find it clearer in a darker environment like an underground car park. Has a wide angle of view so is useful to spot something in a blind spot caused by the rear pillars.

Does the job well and with minimum fitting issues.
The camera works well. The quality of the image isn't high and has lots of 'fish-eye' distortion but it's adequate to see what is behind you which is the main purpose. The transmitter part of the camera has to be mounted inside but the connector lead is quite small - about 8mm dia so you don't need to to drill a large hole in the body work. I was concerend that being mostly surrounded by metal the signal wouldn't get through to the sat nav but it works fine. In fact I think the 10m range is on the conservative side - I successfully tested the camera in the garage with the sat nav inside at least 10m away and through several walls. I installed this at the rear of a 6m van and the wireless facility saved a lot of work bringing wires along the length of the vehicle. By linking the camera power to the reversing lights, the sat nav automatically switches to the rear camera when reverse gear is selected.

Useful reversing camera for an older car
The Garmin 010-12242-00 BC30 wireless reversing camera kit works well in my little old car. Instructions are good. The lens has a wide angle so nothing is missed, but the system is limited by the poor image quality. The integration with my Garmin Nuvi 2599LMT-D Sat-nav works perfectly.. Camera is easily aimed with the wide angle lens.. The picture corresponds to what one sees in a rear-view mirror.. Transmitter seems to work equally well from anywhere in the boot.. No wires need be threaded through from the back of the car.. Receiver is part of the replacement power lead from accessory socket to sat nav.. The guide-lines can be easily adjusted to define the required space behind the car.. It switches on automatically when reverse is selected.. More BC30 cameras can be added, and the sat-nav will know about them.. I don’t need to upgrade the existing primitive infotainment system. The only fiddly bit was to add a wire from the +12V reverse light through the 30cm umbilical to the boot lid, where the camera and its bracket were mounted on a convenient spare plastic panel. It was easy to snip off redundant bits of bracket. See the close-up picture of camera and bracket. However, while it is adequate to see obstructions when parking, the camera is let down by the image quality which loses it the star on the rating. Resolution is low even on the small screen of the sat-nav, motion is blocky, and shading is coarsely quantised in low light or darker areas. See the wide-angle picture, with boot lid edge cropping the head of the picture and bumper showing across the foot, and a bit too much contrast between sunlight in the distance and shadow in the foreground for the camera and display.

Easy install - camera quality is adequate.
Installed into a Toyota Avensis Estate. Relatively easy install - plenty of YouTube videos to assist in how to tap into the reversing light for a camera that help. Wireless signal strength was strong enough that I do not need to use the additional antenna that plugs into the Satnav power supply (this is the one that comes supplied with the BC30). Reversing camera resolution is not high, but met my expectations and is adequate for the job. Used with a Garmin DriveLuxe 51LMT-D.

Unobtrusive and sits neatly
Fitted to my Porsche 981 and works really well. Unobtrusive and sits neatly on the number plate. Not the best quality image but does the job. Very sturdy camera, small and neat. Wiring supplied is good quality and it all worked without any problems.

Poor Quality that Does not last and poor product support
I installed the reversing camera and it linked up great to my screen. I was Happy. But after aboout 18 Months the quality of the picture became slightly blurry. I assumed it was just dirt on the camera and so carried on. Wventually After having the car cleaned I noticed it was still blurry and it turned out to be dirt between the lens and the protective cover. I wrote to Garmin for help and after numbers of emails back and forth, was informed that I was out of warranty and if I wanted a new camera I would need to pay £50! Company has a Moto of "Built to Last", but it should really read "Built to last until Warranty out". They even suggested I look at the newer models to pay at full price...why would I do that! Most car cameras are built to last, I have a cheap one on my daughters car and it is better than the Garmin in every way possible. Very dissapointed in a big company.

Good piece of kir
I bought this for my caravan and connected it to come on permanently when connected to the car.The image refresh rate is not the same as a hard wires camera but is enough to know what's going on behind the van
