Dimensions
Read the dimensions, this is not the first time I've been deceived by a photo. These sticks are tiny, I wouldn't not use unsupervised. I purchased these for vacation use so my almost 2 year old would have some toys in the hotel room. He did love using it, but the stress I felt when I was searching for one of these that had rolled away to make sure he couldn't get it after we were finished. I would say this is perfect for fine motor skills, but unfortunately a lot of those practicing fine motor skills still like to put things in their mouth.Very nice carrying case. I would get for maybe a 3 year old or if you know your kid won't be tempted to chomp on these.

Wonderful for skill building but big choking hazard
This toy is beautifully made, and my baby loves putting the sticks in and out. I wish I had read the description and sizing a little more carefully because, as other posters have said, this toy requires constant vigilance because of to the small size of the sticks. Due to this, it feels like a bit of a stretch to market it for 1 year olds. I wish there were a sized up version, where the sticks were longer than would fit in a baby’s mouth. Lots of fun and great skill building otherwise.
