I've been trying to get into calligraphy and start practicing. This is a great set for that. Lots of tools, ink choices, and pen tips. Lots to choose from and play with. I like that there is so much variety. Everything stores nicely in the box but what I love most is that the ink isn't loose ink bottles - they are capsules that fit into the pen. I'm all for the old school version of calligraphy with ink wells, but sometimes, I just want to practice. This set is perfect.

Awesome calligraphy set. Multiple pens and lots of ink options and back up ink. Pens are cool colors and write super smooth. Would make a great gift.

My set did not come with any instructions and it took me a good while to figure out how to attach the ink. I still don't know what those converter things are for or how to use them. It would have been really nice to have some instructions. The pens seem to work nicely but I think I must have got a returned set that had the wrong parts because I have four nibs that are all the same size. It would have been nice to have a smaller flat nib. If all the parts have been there, I might have given it four or five stars.

I am a beginner and I love this calligraphy pen set. It has 3 pens, each of which comes with an ink piston converter, where you draw the ink up into the pen out of a bottle of ink. This can be very messy, so I was pleased to see that they had included 3 boxes of ink cartridges in various colors. To use the ink cartridges, you need to twist and remove the ink piston and then place in the ink cartridge and push it in firmly (until you feel a slight snap). Replace the outer part of the pen and it should be ready to write. There are 6 interchangeable nibs for the 3 pens, with 1 of them being a brush instead of the actual metal nib writing tip. These are changed out by simply unscrewing one nib from the pen and screwing in the new nib. I really like that these pens have some weight to them, it feels like they should be a good quality. The set comes in a box with a foam insert that helps hold everything in place.
