New DB Electrical 410-54135 Compatible With/Replacement For Honda TRX420FA 2009-2019, TRX420FE 2007-2019, TRX420FM 2007-2019, TRX420FPA 2009-2013, TRX420FPM 2009-2013, 31200-HP5-601, 18921N

Installed and operating about a month now. Getting workout as used daily to deliver feed to remote cages in a wildlife refuge. Lots of stopping and restarting. Unit was fairly easy to install, but installation was done using washers to keep the units splined drive shaft from being inserted too far into the engine. As noted by others, the splined shaft was about one quarter inch longer than the oem unit. Other than that, the new unit appears identical and so far works flawlessly. Rec this unit, just be sure to install using washers to restrict over insertion because of the longer splined shaft. Just noticed the price has suddenly increased from about $54 to about $94. Other suppliers are still in the lower price range. All units appear similar. Suspect new, higher price from this vendor was due to Honda recently greatly increasing the price of the oem unit. Maybe both Honda and this vendor have pa id too much attention to the antics of the pharmaceutical industry.

The starter screams like a banshee but easy fix to that is add one washer in front of each starter bolt and will sound like oem starter. Seller needs to include the washers with instructions and this would be better than oem starter deal.

Fits my 12 Honda rancher 420 like the factory one. I did take the advice from one of the reviews I read and used a washer to shim this out just a little because of the noise. I'm not sure if the shim did the trick or some people are just particular about things but it's not loud at all. Oh, I did use blue loctite on the bolts for 2 reasons, first because I read a review about one of the mounting ears cracking plus with the washers I'm not getting a flush mount installation. So far so good, not a single problem from the starter. Plus, a oem starter is pretty pricey

I received the starter a couple of days early of what was promised. (+) I checked the starter to see if it would work with my battery charger before installing, and it worked fine. (+) I installed it, upside down the first time, but corrected it and it went in great. (+) This was the easiest repair I think I've ever had.

The spline tip was ground back to match the OEM spline length. The electrical connection guard needed to be rotated 45 deg to allow connection. Starter spun the engine nicely. Noise was typical of the original. Note that the original stater only lasted 48 hours!

Got my starter today and I am using the wheels right away.

Nice replacement, but does not turn over as fast as the OEM - still works.............

This starter was great for about 2 months.Then it started to drag and not want to start my bikeWell I sent amazon a product review saying how it don’t work no more and there sending me a replacement! There really awesome about sending replacements so if yours is broken don’t buy a new one get a replacement!

I installed this starter in my 2007 Honda 420FM ATV and it fit perfectly. The only thing I noticed Is it sounds different when it turns over before firing. Not sure why it would sound different but it works. Hopefully it last as long as the original

Easy install same as oem. Sounds different when turning over the engine and turns over alot slower than oem. Save your money and buy OEM . Turns over soo slow

Item was not the correct part as specified. The decription said it was for my unit but it was not. Also, on return, I was disappointed to find out that only $10 is creditable for returns. So after all that, I am really, really excited. I get to pay for incompetance yet again even though this was entirely NOT my fault.

Nous l'avons utilisé sur un Pionner SXS500. Il faut ajouter une rondelle (washers) car la tige est un peu longue. Facile d'installation.
