Excellent pump that really drains my pool cover fast! Compared to the old siphoning method I've used for years it is blazing fast! The pump is a very good product but one piece of hardware that is included is sub-par in my eyes. The adapter nipple that is used to connect my garden hose has rust starting on it. It looks to be a quality brass fitting but it's not. Keep it dry when not in use or else it will start to rust and fast!I'll still give it 5 stars because it does perform so well. Price is excellent, works very well but:For a pool cover use the hose it came with works well but not fast who cares it will keep up at a decent rate however the plastic hose it comes with is long so there is a lot of friction holding water flow back also best to screw in the garden hose metal fitting first as the plastic fitting for the hose it comes with in my experience cross threads so it goes in an angle creating small leakage at the connection. I have a fountain and wanted to drain quicker so I connected a small length garden hose to the metal adapter that comes with it, it seats properly into the base and delivers 3 times the water flow very happy with that and therefore bumped the rating up to five stars. Yes, it is prone to tipping over but they all are so just carefully route the garden hose to prop it up no problem. Also it does suck water up all the way from a 1/4 inch depth. When I was using the smaller plastic hose if I moved the unit it would stop so unplug and re-plug into power and it works fine. For the price its very effective and has good fit and function.

Works well but tips over with the weight of hose so you will have to find a way to support it to stay upright. (i place one of my pool wall bags to prop it up) . The 16" drain hose works great but wanted something longer to drain water farther out, so my garden hose also works wonderfully with it. All and all I would recommend as it is lightweight and super simple to use. Just attach hose, plug in, place it and it goes! I do have to move it around the pool cover to drain from different locations but that is probably more to do with my cover than the pump.

this pump works pretty good for removing water from the pool cover! we have a 24' round pool and it works pretty good for getting the rain water off the cover! recommend

Good product. Would have liked an auto shut-off but I was very happy with the pump until it stopped working for no apparent reason.Suction - goodDurability - seemed goodValue - goodUntil it stopped working.I have just emailed EDOU to access the warranty with no response - yet.

I used a manual (fuel) siphon to drain excess water form my above ground pool cover for a couple of years and then, when the pine needle accumulation became too much for it and it stopped working, I tried a small battery-powered siphon but that was clearly not suitable for an above ground pool cover siphoning job.Before trying out my next solution I did a search for pumps designed for the desired purpose and this unit was listed frequently and usually ranked highly so i decided to give it a go.It has a nice long power cord (25') so I was able to put the pump a good few feet away from the center of my 21' round pool's cover and it sat almost completely submerged. I plugged it in and it started shooting water out of the provided hose immediately. It eventually drained the depression it sat in faster than the surrounding water could flow into it.We'll see how long it lasts but I will say, after having used a couple of other siphon products... to maximize the longevity of this unit, use/purchase a pool skimmer basket sock (you can get a 20-pack for around $15) to provide an additional particle debris barrier. It will need washed periodically so secure it with something removable, like a rubber band.TL;DR this is a great pump for siphoning off excess water from an above ground pool cover.

Buy this pump now! I've had this pump for 2 years and use it to keep water off of my pool cover during the winter. I have let it run dry dozens of times, and I mean overnight. I have even left it running and get frozen only to start working again the next day when it warmed up enough to thaw. Amazing pump!

I got this b/c we don't need a high pressure, high dollar pump.I did make the big mistake of NOT getting one years ago. The included hose is a good one but the smaller diameter means the more water you need to pump the longer it will take. I have a standard garden hose but am testing out the included one. We have 50' garden hose and from what I read the longer the hose the longer it will take to pump liquid a longer distance.It is quiet and can pump water from a higher point to a lower point say from on top of the pool cover up and over the side wall and down away from the pool. I had to stop for now but the demand isn't high for it and so far so good.I'm sure it has multiple uses but do NOT leave it unattended. There is NO Off/on button. Plugged in and it stays on until you unplug it.

This pump is very good for when you want to pump water out of a fish pond. The power is not so high that it damages the fish (or plants) yes it does take longer to pump out the water to the level you want but that’s the price for not harming the fish. It is designed to clear swimming pool covers but is also great for the above.

Je suis content mais la pompe pourrait être meilleure. Bien que la pression soit faible, la pompe videra efficacement la couverture de la piscine si elle est laissée en place suffisamment longtemps. En plus, on ne peut pas utiliser un tuyau d'arrosage normal, comme il est suggéré dans les instructions, car il est trop lourd et la pompe se renverse. Vous devez donc toujours utiliser le tuyau le plus court fourni avec la pompe (ou un tuyau de poids similaire) .
