Awesome gloves
**Update! If using these for work and frequently, the magnets don’t hold the fingertips back that well after all.Not a huge deal to me, but would be nice if the magnets were stronger. The gloves are so nice and warm! And they have stretched a little, since using them so much.I’m very happy with these gloves! They are super warm, The magnets hold the tips back good and they’re just so convenient. I will say if you’re deciding whether to get a size XS or S (if you know for sure you don’t wear an XS) get the S. The XS is a little too tight around the wrists and hand. The finger tips fit good though. I plan on just keeping the XS and hopefully once I wear them enough they will stretch.

Awesome Concept! Needs a little work.
Great gloves. The only issue is that with prolonged use (if you're using them while shoveling snow, cleaning off car, etc.) the fingertips do come open and/or you will get snow creeping into the crevice of the opening. Maybe if the thumb and index fingertips were velcro? Or magnetic? Either or would probably help them stay in place better.

Pleasantly Surprised
24x1815-3/4x16 15-1/2x16I was pretty skeptical about these gloves. Among other things the big features I was specifically looking for was light to mid-weight with just exposed index and thumb convertible gloves, not mittens. While I did found some there aren’t a lot of options out there. I saw these ones awhile ago because they’re amongst the first ones that come up in a search but I didn’t really consider them as I never heard of FRDM and was looking for a familiar brand like Black Diamond, Arcteryx, Outdoor Research, and so on. After searching for a silly amount of time, these were pretty the only ones that came close to fitting my criteria so I got them and I have to say I’m pleasantly surprised and satisfied!! They are good quality, fit my hands almost perfectly, and keep them warm. If you’re a liner person I would recommend going a size up. Going off the size guide I’m a average Large and like I stated they fit perfectly snug and a liner wouldn’t fit. Best of luck shopping!

Wear alone or with liner
I have searched and searched and bought and returned multiple pairs of gloves needed for photography. I am a woman with thin fingers and have had trouble with gloves fitting - even when labeled Unisex. I purchased the FRDM Free Fit gloves to wear alone or paired with the FRDM Vigor Liner Gloves on colder days. My measurement is 7.5, which is the top end of the small and low end of medium. I ordered the small in the Liner and medium in the Free Fit and they both fit very well and work well alone and together. The Free Fit gloves feel nice inside and out and have a flip cap for the index fingers and thumbs. Circulation to my fingers/thumbs are not cut off when I flip the cap open and the magnets work well so far. They are thick enough to provide warmth, but I still have detexterity with my hands/fingers.

Pretty Good, but...
The gloves are pretty warm, I am satisfied overall and do find the convertible aspect somewhat useful. For almost $50 I did expect a bit more out of these. I do have some issues with these FRDM gloves.1. The thumb is VERY long. I have XL hands and every finger fits perfectly, except the thumb. There is legitimately 3/4" of loose fabric just hanging out above my thumb, not a huge deal but mildly annoying.2. The inner and outer fabric are not attached! So when you go to pull the gloves off, you need to pinch the fabrics together or risk pulling the glove's fleece insides out. This one actually really bothers me.3. The finger "flaps" on the thumb and forefinger are not insulated or warm at all. They are just a neoprene/spandex type of material. It's better than nothing, but my finger tips get COLD when i'm outside for more than a few minutes, somewhat defeating the purpose of convertible gloves.4. The magnets that hold the finger covers back are weak, and the flaps also do not secure over your fingers very well, it takes some fidgeting to get them pulled over your fingers completely, (especially with almsot an inch of extra thumb getting in the way)All that being said, they are form fitting and warm (except the flappy finger tips!), have grippy palms, and look good. They are especially nice for driving. I'd call these casual gloves, don't expect or need to depend on these for long periods of time unless you have glove liners, or above freezing weather.

High Quality and Comfortable
I thought this design was interesting. When I received them and put them on I was very impressed. Quality made and a very cleaver design. It is very easy to remove the finger and thumb tops so I can easily use my phone. I am a fly fisherman and skier and I can use these gloves for both. Only thing to remember if you are going to use these on the mountain - they are not for freezing weather (like below 25 degrees). Any temperature above 25 and you are all set! I highly recommend these gloves for any outdoor activity where you need a glove.

Mostly waterproof
I used these gloves in Iceland, hoping to keep my hands dry while being able to use my phone to take pictures. I really like the removable finger/thumb tip option - and this worked great for using the phone, although I did feel the gloves were a bit thick so I didn't have the dexterity I'm used to having and felt awkward handling the phone. Only problem I had is that in the pouring rain, the finger/thumb flaps got soaking wet even when closed. The rest of the fingers/hands stayed dry, though, so overall it wasn't bad (this was summer, so not too cold). But if things had been colder, or I'd been outside longer, I think the wet finger/thumb would have gotten uncomfortable. I bought two pairs - one for each family member - and we both experienced the same thing.

Great for photography
Perfect for photographing on cold days. Not perfect, but I dont think anything is - especially for me who has Raynauds. Spent 5 hours photographing bald eagles in cold northeast winter weather, and these were great. Soft, long down my wrists into my coat sleeves, and pretty warm - especially if you shove a handwarmer inside. The fingertips are awesome for peeling back to work dials on a camera. I'd buy them again in a heartbeat if they got lost.
