I had to replace an old feeder that did not provide the water necessary to cause the chlorine tabs to feed the chlorine into the pool. I found this feeder on Amazon and gave it a try. It provides plenty of water to feed my pool, and I recommend this Chlorine feeder.

Very cheaply made. Ordered a new gasket and both the one in it and the new one are to large. Waste of money.

I got this R171096 Chlorinator, Compatible with Rainbow 320 Automatic Inline Chlorine/Bromine Feeder, for Swimming Pools or Spa to replace my 20 year old cracked leaking Rainbow 320 automatic chlorinator. I used the existing in-line tee from my old chlorinator and it fit okay even though the threads were not exactly the same. I just used some teflon tape and some pipe dope on the threads along with the included O ring and it did not leak. This is a nice heavy duty well made unit. It comes with all the necessary installation fittings and hose and even 2 bushings if you are installing it on 11/2" pvc pipe. It has a solid easily removable screw on lid with an O ring inside and a smooth precise adjustable valve. I am very satisfied with this unit and I highly recommend it for either a replacement for your existing chlorinator or as a new installation option.

I’ve used an inline chlorinator before and I wanted one for this house too. This one feels well made, is thick plastic and it should hold up well to the summer and winter temperature extremes. It installed easily onto the 2” pvc pipe and took maybe ten minutes to install. The adjustment valve makes it easy to adjust for the seasons. The valve is currently set at mid-point and I have not had to adjust it yet. With less sunlight, cooler temps and no one swimming anymore, I’m sure I’ll be lowering the level soon. If you do not have an inline chlorinator, you should consider one as it will last longer than the floating style and release level is easier to control. You also don’t have to remove it from the pool when there are swimmers present. If I could change anything about this inline chlorinator it would be to put clear glass on the top lid so I could see if it needed more tabs without having to open it up (like my other one did).

Actually, no design for mounting. It's held in position by the pipe that connects to it. I did not realize this when I was comparing which unit to get. Most have a flat base to allow unit to set upright.Other than the oversight on mounting, determining what adjustment is appropriate is a guess at best. Eventually I'm sure I will figure out the correct setting for our pool, but it's not a set and forget Device. So far, the only thing that I do like about this is that I don't have a floating chlorine dispenser anymore.

I was hoping that I could put this into my system without cutting any pipes. The old one was 30 years old, brittle and had a bad check valve. The flow limiter valve was also very stiff. I was able to unscrew the old Hayward chlorinator from the base and screw this one onto it without replacing the base. It did require removing the old poly tubing to the inlet and outlet, but the tubing sizes were the same. The tubing came off easily after I heated it up with a heat gun. Without that it would be very difficult. Everything works well now. The internal geometry and operation appear to be identical.The new one seals differently. Instead of the top screwing down onto a flat O ring to seal, this one seals by an o ring down in the barrel. Since the seal is not really dependent on the pressure applied to the threads, it doesn't have to be screwed down tightly to seal, an added convenience.

We needed to replace the chlorinator for our pool and this was perfect. It's been installed for a couple months now and has absolutely no issues. It feels very solid, was easy to install and has saved us a ton of chlorine tabs and hassle already. I would highly recommend this.
