More durable than the other one I tried
Used this for cleaning the stainless steel grates on my grill, I ordered this one online and also picked one up at Lowes that came with a handle like a brush. I used the one from Lowes first and it cleans things up really nicely but also left a giant mess and was gone when I was about half way done with cleaning things up. It also wouldn't stay in the brush, so don't invest in a brush for these, just hold them in your hands. It disintegrated into tiny little grit which was everywhere... I mean everywhere. So then I switched to the this one which was purchased on Amazon and was amazed at how much longer it was lasting. It doesn't disintegrate as quickly, it's more stone like than the gritty foam of the other. I was able to finish cleaning the grates and still have 3/4 of the stone left. I will definitely be buying more of these and avoiding the other type. These do the job and last much longer.

Works best for me.
While I'm convinced that there is no product on the market that will perfectly clean a grill--whether it be a grill brush, cleaning fluid, or whatever--I can honestly say that the Magic Stone is the best one I've come across. It effectively scrapes off crud and allows the silver finish of stainless steel to show through again, even on the edge portions of the grate that hang over the crossbar, which is the most difficult part to clean (without entirely removing the grates from the grill). I'm very happy with this product. The Magic Stone can be used on either a hot or cold grill. Hot works better, of course, but that has some drawbacks. If you wear a BBQ mitt/glove to protect your hand from the heat, the Magic Stone is much harder to use. If you use your bare hand, well, don't complain when the inevitable happens. I've fallen victim to burns on more than one occasion. The product description says you have to be careful when using the stone on stainless steel, because it can scratch. My grill has stainless steel grates, and I haven't had any problem with scratching. Perhaps they're talking about the Kitchen Stone instead of the Grill Stone? Anyway, buyer beware, but it works okay for me.If you read through the reviews, there are a number of negative points mentioned. Let me address a few of them."The stone doesn't last long." In general, this is true. As you scrub, you wear down the stone. The product photo shows grooves in the stone. Those grooves aren't present on a brand new stone; it's a solid rectangular block. The grooves are formed as you scrub, wearing away as the stone passes over the grate. The grooves are actually a good thing (to a certain point), as they allow the sides of the grate bars to be cleaned along with the top. When the grooves get "too" deep, I rotate the stone 90 degrees. This makes it last a bit longer and keep cleaning effectively. Now, some reviewers claimed they couldn't get even one complete cleaning out of a stone, and frankly that is just not true. I BBQ a lot, even in winter, and I've been using the same stone for three months. Granted, the stone is on its last legs, and I don't use it _every_ time I BBQ (let's say 85-90% of the time), but it certainly lasts for more than one cleaning. I guess it also depends on how you define "cleaning"; in the above context I'm talking about a regular cleaning after using the BBQ. If you're talking about a full cleaning where you remove the grates from the grill and clean the undersides as well, then of course it's not going to last as long, but it'll still last longer than one cleaning. I suppose I should also mention that I clean with a grill brush first, then follow up with the Magic Stone."The stone is brittle and falls apart." Again, this is true... but not until you've used it awhile and it starts getting thinner (or you drop it on concrete). So once it cracks in two you start using the individual pieces and take longer strokes. What's the big deal?"The stone leaves dust on the grates after cleaning." That's false... but with a caveat. The instructions say to wipe the grill down with a damp cloth after use. Yes there's dust remaining after using the stone; but if you don't wipe the grill down afterward, then don't blame the stone. Blame the person who refuses to follow the directions!Like I said, there isn't any perfect grill cleaning product (IMO), but the Magic Stone is the product that works best for me. I'll continue to buy and use them, and I believe you'll like them too.

Does a reasonable job.

Great product
So simple to use and very effective. Far less expensive than other fancier and more complicated options. After reading reviews decided to not get handle. Using stone without handle is easy.

Works quite well with minimal effort
The media could not be loaded. Works suprisingly well, and I hardly added any pressure to the block at all. I like it.I'm not sure it will last a long time. I had already made some sizeable dents in it when I scrubbed the small part I did get to.I'm going to do a full deep clean and see how much, if any, is left over on the 3-4 panels I have to scrub.I actually might order more and scrub the insides as well.*UPDATE*It works well but it did not last long enough to get even just the racks done. The grill I have at work is not super large. But it gets a lot of use. I would need about 6-7 of these to clean the whole thing. And at $5 a piece. That would be quite pricy.I like them. They work well. But for a grill that gets a lot of use it is not really cost efficient to use these.

Review worthy!
Whatever this thing underneath the grates is called (pictured) would not clean no matter what we did. We make a lot of a lot of jalepeno poppers, so the bacon grease builds up. We tried everything. I even spent over $60 on some other product. I bought this on a whim after seeing it on one of those stupid posts on Facebook about amazing products. This thing is AMAZING! It took so much grease off in minutes. My husband is so skeptical, and he LOVES it.I don’t normally do reviews, but he was so happy with this thing, I had to! Seriously, it really helps! Completely worth the money!(The stuff in the bowl in the sink in the picture is grease that just came right off when my husband rinsed it off after scrubbing it with this thing!)

Stone cleans grill grate well
The stone leaves dust on the grill. It is important that the grill needs to be wiped clean before using.
