I am writing this review to make it easier for other families to choose their air pump because it took me so long to choose the Etekcity. The key features are that it is portable, rechargeable, easy to store, there's a nozzle to fit any size inlet valve, and it is fast. Blew up the kids' 8 foot by 10 foot inflatable pool in a couple minutes. The air pump held it's charge and easily filled the pool up again, three weeks later. This portable air pump fits in the palm of my hand -- incredibly easy to use, convenient to store, and costs less than most of the other pumps with the same features. I also like that I can plug it into the wall to charge, and don't have to, but may plug it into the car or any usb port.

I bought this pump for a camping trip to blow up air mattresses. I have only used it for our practice run to make sure everything fits. It worked perfectly!! It’s very small and extremely lightweight so it will pack away perfectly for trips! I love that! Despite its small size, it is a very powerful pump and worked quickly to inflate my queen and twin sized air mattresses! It also deflates very quickly and so well that I was able to fold my air mattresses perfectly flat with no issues whatsoever! This thing is great!!Obviously you’ll need to remember that this is a rechargeable battery operated pump so it’s not as powerful as an a/c operated pump, but for what it is, it is fantastic!

I bought this after a beach vacation a year ago. Charged it up and thought nothing of it until a week or so ago as I prepared to head to the beach with my family. We have collected a variety of inflatables over the past couple of years and when I fired this thing up it worked like a disco dream. It’s easy to use, keeps a charge, will inflate a number of medium to large beach/pool toys and better yet the thing also has a “deflate” nozzle. As the ad used to say years ago - it does exactly what it says on the tin! I would have no hesitation recommending this product - and now they even have a handy pouch or bag to carry it around in, that’s also handy as I carry mine around in its original box and that is awkward.

The pump worked fine for the first use. The next day, the pump was completely dead and barely charges. When plugged in, the green light comes on immediately, which is supposed to indicate that the pump is fully charged. The pump won’t charge enough to inflate a small pool float. Very disappointing.Update...the company contacted me immediately upon my review posting. They have offered to send a replacement pump. I will update this review upon receipt and testing of the new pump. For now, I've changed my post to 2 stars to reflect the company's quick response and willingness to rectify.Final Update - I’ve had the replacement pump for a couple of months. Though it isn’t super powerful, it works well for inflating and deflating large pool floats. It has maintained its charge for quite a while. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 - you can only use the pump for 5-10 mins at a time and then you need to let it rest/cool off so it doesn’t overheat. It’s really inconvenient when you need to inflate/deflate more than 3 floats.

I recently used this mattress pump for the first time on a camping trip. I charged it the night before using the included 120VAC adapter. The pump was able to fill most of our air mattresses in less than 1 minute and works equally well to remove air from them to speed up the packing process. The included car adapter would be nice if you would need to charge it while camping. My pump was able to fill 4 full size mattresses, 4 pool tubes and deflate them all with battery to spare. It also included a couple of different adapters for various hole sizes. Time will tell how long the battery will last and weather it can be replaced. I'll update my review if the battery or pump has problems prematurely but for now I see this pump as a really good value and time saver!

** 10 month update - This little pump had been sitting in a bin with my air mattress. Decided to camp on spur of moment, hadn't charged pump in 6 months. It still ran like a champ and pumped up my air mattress in under two minutes and sucked the air back out when it was time to go home. Love this thing!**Original review - Nice little pump. Was skeptical at first, especially when I realized I couldn't use it while it was plugged in. Only runs when charged. I charged it for a few hours, then took it camping for the weekend. It blew up my thick queen-sized air mattress in just a few minutes, didn't get hot at all. You could tell when it had blown it up to the fullest extent, the motor sound would change. But it blew it all the way up to nice and firm without me having to add any extra air from the hand pump. And when it was time to go home, I used it to suck the air out of the mattress, super easy and way better then trying to push it all out by hand.

I got the pump to use with my inflatable mattress for camping. I have only used it in the house so far to inflate the mattress fully once and to top of the mattress several times as it stretches. I have not had to charge the pump since the first charge. I didn't find it really loud like others have reported. It seems to be the same as other pumps on the market when it comes to noise.***Adding to my review on 7/9/19 I have used this pump a lot to fill up my camping mattress and it works great. Friends have borrowed it and they are impressed as to how well it works. On a camping trip, I used it to fill up two twin size mattresses and topped them off several times. There was no need to recharge the pump, it worked great. I have changed my review from 3 stars to 5 stars. I would definitely purchase again.
