Informational not transformationable
The authors do cover the book of Joshua well and even go into explanations about how the land was divided right before Joshua died. However, the study as a whole has taught me more about the book of Joshua than how to apply it to my own life today. I would have given the study fewer stars, but because it sparked great conversation from our ladies Bible study (even if the conversation was sometimes over our frustrations with the study) I am giving it three stars. I doubt I would have completed the study if I was doing this one alone. For whatever reason, I didn't find the study very empowering or motivational. I believe the authors tried, but as a 30 year old, I felt often they were speaking to a different age demographic. Here are some examples of my frustration with this study:1) It takes much longer than the twenty minutes it announces on the cover if you want to do all that the authors ask you to do during that time (reading the margins, journaling, looking up verses, "skimming the chapter" etc.). I don't mind spending more than 20 minutes, but was annoyed that it was not as advertised.2)There are several times it seems the authors wanted to make a point and then just threw in a few vaguely connected verses from the Bible out of context to back up their point. I didn't disagree with any of their points, but wish they would have chosen more solid examples from scripture rather than stretching.3)There are quotes at the end of each chapter and stories within the discussion for each day that often felt like they were just trying to fill up the page.4)There is a very poor map in the back of the book that is referenced several times, which I found disappointing since the cities or regions were not as well marked as I would have liked for all their referrals.5)There are several questions each day that are basic recall of what you just read and then the author often restates the answer in the following paragraph. It was annoying more than anything else.So while these frustrations were not heresy, they are enough for me to not do another study by these authors. I personally prefer Beth Moore.

Not so new "New Book"
I am really enjoying this study through Joshua! The questions can be relatively straight-forward, which some might find a little shallow, but there is plenty of opportunity for insight. You get out of it what you put into it. The only complaint I have has absolutely nothing to do with the study itself. I bought what was advertised as a book in "New" condition. It came shrink-wrapped in plastic and everything, so I assumed it was brand new, as advertised. I was surprised and disappointed, therefore, to find a couple sections which had been underlined. Instead of being labeled as a new book, it should have been labeled as either "like new" or "very good" condition. I just really felt as though the seller was not completely forthcoming about it.

Great study of Joshua
I'm almost through this Bible study book. I bought it for my kindle, and just work my personal notes in a notebook. I've enjoyed the insights the authors bring forth. It is a faith-strengthening study for those of us who tend to be fearful or doubtful in facing challenges. Otherwise, it is just a good study on Joshau.

Looking forward to the study
I purchased this for a Sunday School class study and am looking forward to it. My only disappointment (which is my fault for not paying attention) is that it is paperback, not spiral bound like the ones the rest of the ladies got. I never took notice about that detail.

So-so
I am on the third week of the study and am doing it with a church group. It has been ok. The questions don't always make sense (several other ladies agree) and the book does not give you any space to answer the questions, which is frustrating considering it's a bible study book. I shouldn't have to have a journal with me to do the study. Some of the questions don't really even relate to the story at hand and seem sort of thrown in. Not terrible but not great. But that said, I have enjoyed it and it's a good study for a group.

Great series!
I loooove this series. The way the devotional is broken up is helpful and helps with gleaning information.
