12 Boxes for those of you that have been asking ... The large shells aren't available in our small town, so we stock up from Amazon. If you're a pasta nut, you'll find them great for lasagna casseroles, pasta salads, chicken and noodles, and even Mac & Cheese ... I like Barilla pastas best and will pay a bit more for them. They don't get gummy and are much easier to cook to al dente.

I can't find the large shell anymore in the stores, although I do not know why. Glad to find them here on Amazon. These are a nice size shell for an entree dish with a sauce of your choice. The are not the size for stuffing like manicotti nor small enough for a salad (like macaroni).

I ordered Jumbo shells and got large shells, otherwise everything is fine

I like these for soups and stews. Very good and holds up well without dissolving into your broth. I add them the last half hour. Yummy!

Good, but came quite broken up in the box.

Ah, Barilla! Around here, they sell small shells. What am I going to do with them?? I need this size for dinner, not those tiny ones! Excellent product. I would love to go "whole grain" but husband would never eat them--he says his mom would yell at him from heaven (she's the Italian mom side of him), so we have to stay with the Durham wheat type, which we both know is not good for us at this age anymore.

I was so happy to find these on Amazon. I had been looking for a larger shell and couldn't find anything locally. For some reason, Barilla Large Shells aren't carried in Colorado. My favorite pasta is American Beauty's Sea Shells, but those aren't carried here either. Barilla's Large Shells aren't as big but they are a good substitute.
