SCHLAGE BE469ZP CAM 619 Connect Smart Deadbolt with alarm with Camelot Trim in Satin Nickel, Z-Wave Plus enabled

I wanted a smart lock solution for our vacation home and after a lot of searching this one fit the bill. We have a major security provider and I wanted a smart lock that would integrate with their system's control module and our smart home hub. Schlage's z wave makes it very universal to communicate with multiple systems but confirm compatibility first. The second reason for this was Schlage states this deadbolt is bump resistant and it can be used with an old fashioned key. The piece of mind of using a key in the event of battery loss, frozen weather, etc. is a huge plus in my book. Another great feature is the built in alarm, so even if the main system goes down this can be a backup for the front door. My wife loved the overall look and the fit/finish is top notch and matches our home decor exactly. Installation was easy and we added secure deadbolt striker plates with 3" screws. Make sure to align everything before cutting (measure 3 times, cut/drill 1 time) and putting it is is easy. It uses standard batteries which is also a big plus. After 8 months the batteries are still going strong. The key pad looks great and once you know how to turn on the light it is easy to use in the dark. You can program in multiple codes so you can keep track of who is opening the lock.Pros- Looks great, heavy and good quality frame and components.- locking mechanism is solid and operates smooth (but noisy as others have noted)- can operate as a smart lock or a dumb lock or anything in-between (can be locked from inside with a mechanical dial)- battery life is long, even with a month of below freezing temps the same set of batteries is going strong 8 months later- integrates with multiple smart systems. I can geo-fence the lock to unlock when I am in the driveway, remotely lock/unlock, and control from my primary alarm system provider's app and base station- physical keys work perfect- lighted keypad for night, but you need to know how to turn them on- supports multiple pins for different users, can be used with smart systems to know who is coming/going- easy to install and setup, had it installed into a brand new door in just under an hour and programmed in 30 minCons- locking/unlocking is loud (the motor that operates the mechanism), this can be a plus if your want audio assurances but it can be jarring late at night/early in the morning (but you can use a key or the knob if you want to be quiet)- deadbolt alignment is an absolute must, any resistance or alignment that causes rubbing or binding will make the locking/unlocking problematic, this is why we installed the heavier duty deadbolt striker plate with deadbolt channel- z-wave is more open source, however you have to take the cover off to put the lock into paring mode which makes hacking it very hard to do without physical access to the back cover- keypad night light isn't intuitive to use, press the Schlage logo, we mitigated this with smart light-bulbs on the porchOverall, we are supper happy with this lock. My wife loves the look and feel, I love the security features and reliability. I highly recommend this as it can be used with keys and without smart feature just in case. It stays connected to my alarm system and smart home hubs without any issues. Even though we have an alarm system this holds the extra layer of security knowing if anyone tries to bump it or kick the door in an additional alarm will go off and notifications sent.

Easy to install replacement for a keyed deadbolt. Programming was not difficult. The deadbolt to attractive. It is easy to uplock when arriving and simple to lock when leaving.

So I first got one of these keyless entry locks back in 2018 and it lasted two or three months until the batteries were dying and needed to be replaced. After that it didn't work at all. Schlage replaced this lock under warranty in the next lock worked for 5 years until the batteries died. The batteries didn't last 5 years but the last time the batteries died and I replaced them the lock no longer worked. Turns out that you only want to put Duracell batteries in these locks otherwise they only work for a couple of days and the lock never works correctly again.Two and a half months ago I replaced the lock with this lock here and it intimately would just lock us out of the house. By the time this happened so frequently that I needed to replace the lock I was no longer able to return it to Amazon and I had spent over an hour on hold trying to speak with slage. I had absolutely no luck getting in touch with their customer service. I bought another lock And it worked great for 3 weeks until tonight, it's completely dead. Seriously schlage what's going on with your locks? I'm putting this in the box sending it back and going and getting a different brand lock.I also want to add that I I also had another style of walk put in one of my properties and it was supposed to hook up to Wi-Fi. I don't like stuff like that cuz I like to keep it simple but the lockers installed while I was away so I tried to deal with it that works for 3 days until it lost connectivity to the internet and it erased all the codes that were stored. What a waste of time and money.

I’ve owned this for a year. I really like this it match’s the Camelot brass door handles on my front doorThat I bought years agoI use voice and SmartThings hub and it works well.Now that said here are some of the things it does I could live with out. it auto locks after 30 secondsSo if you step outside to get a package you only have 30 seconds and it locks. There should be a way to extend auto lock time . You can disable able that feature.I use Duracell batteries right from the start and they lasted from January to September. I wish this was a usb charge pack instead of batteriesThe last thing is once in a while the keypad stopsWorking doesn’t matter if it’s cold or hot day or night . It’s rare But I have to use the key and it resets the pad but 99 percent of the time it works flawlesslySo overall I’m happy with it plus a year ago I only paid $120 cause I had points. just a note on installation Schlage has YouTube vids to help with install. You door must close perfectly before install and door handle and laches must align perfectlyBefore install so if not fix them before you install thisIf you’re not tech savvy and you don’t read instructions this is not for you. Goes backs to schools and gets you somes edumcarions haha
