Decent switch for the money
Handy little switch that was easy to use once I realised the "line in" ethernet cable can go into any port. The instructions didn't make this clear (not to me anyway 😊). I bought it as I had issues with wifi dropping out, possibly due to where my PS5, cable box & AV amp were situated. All are now wired connections and work a treat. I would say good value for money, think I paid £15.

A Good Solution For Multiple Devices
Not a bad size, I was expecting it to be bigger but it's nice and compact! It provides a simple solution for splitting my ethernet connected directly to the router into the next room so I can connect my PC and games consoles without having to worry about WiFi stuttering. So far the speeds I'm seeing through the splitter are near identical to the speeds I would get if I was using the single ethernet cable directly to the Virgin Media Hub, so there's not much speed loss at all as my top speed is around 380Mbps.I have noticed since adding this device there is some static blipping sounds coming from my speakers, it's not a big deal as it's very subtle but if I'm not listening to anything through them I can hear it.After a few days of using the splitter, I noticed my PS5 which was in slot 4 kept showing notifications saying LAN connected > LAN disconnected > LAN Connected over and over until I unplugged and put it back in, I decided to test this port again by changing that port with my PS3 LAN cable so moving the PS5 to slot 3 and the PS3 to slot 4 and it happened again with the PS3 so I may have a faulty port? The ethernet from my router is in Port 1, my PC is in Port 2 and hasn't had a disconnection issue like this, so I'll have to keep an eye on it. A month or two on, I moved the main cable to the Hub to port 5 and haven't used port 4 and I've not encountered the disconnections mentioned previously or any disconnect issues after switching the Hub from Port 1 to 5.The manual didn't specify a port that the direct Internet line should be placed in so it made sense to just add it in the first one and then the subsequent devices following down the line.I have noticed some packet loss playing MWII and Warzone on PS5 but didn't have any playing Apex on PC, I think it might be due to the Virgin Media firewall and not the splitter itself, so I've started playing with it turned off to see if that solves the issue.Overall I'm happy with the splitter, it saves me from having to switch a single cable between multiple devices and my speeds aren't slowed at all by the extra device which is also a plus 👍🏻 the only negative seems to be port 3 but as I don't need to use it avoiding that port specifically has eliminated one issue.

Reliable network switch at a great price
This NETGEAR 5 Port Gigabit Network Switch replaced an identical model which was still going strong after 5 years of 24/7 use. Why did I replace it? Only because the LEDs on the previous one had degraded to such an extent that it was difficult to see which port was in use. As the average lifespand for a consumer swith is usually between 5 to 10 years of age and the GS305 is relatively cheap it made sense to replace the original switch at this point in time.
