A Powerful Car Stereo at a Great Price
I had a 6 CD changer system in my Ford Ranger which quit working. Actually, when I bought the truck (used), the CD changer did not work and I bought a new 6 CD changer from a junkyard and installed it. After about a year or so, it quit working (notorious for this type of CD changer). Rather than waste another $100 or so from a junkyard, I decided to get this unit for a few more dollars. My wife actually bought it for me for Valentine's Day. It was a pain to install with the install mount frame but I finally got it in and it looks and sounds great! I have to limit the volume to about 15 or 20 as any more and it will probably blow the speakers. The bluetooth works well and I can do hands free telephone conversations through the stereo to my phone. It will also recognize my smartphone and do media from it or the smartphone can control the Sony system. The tuner and CD work great. It will also do Pandora through a smartphone and Sirius radio if you connect a Sirius satellite radio tuner to this Sony receiver. My wife loves the colorful display and the way it changes and is synchronized to the music.Actually, it's way too good for my truck but a lot better than the stock CD changer system that has a history of failure. I love my Sony!

Awesome Stereo!
Awesome stereo! Slightly intimidating price, but when you get this fine piece installed you realize it's worth every penny. More than enough power for me and when paired with a good speaker set, it plays everything from jazz to metal with a great deal of quality. The menu seems simple, but it can be confusing at times with many sub menus. However, once you figure out that, it can be peaked to your liking. Bluetooth automatically pairs without issue and having a line in and a USB in is just icing on the cake. If you love good music and operational flexibility, this radio will be perfect for you.

Perfect fit
Gave this to my husband for Christmas. He was able to install it easily and it fit perfectly in his 94 ford. Coupled with a good set of speakers it puts out some good sound. I definitely recommend this unit to anyone looking for a cheaper replacement radio.

Should have bought another brand
5/22: After posting two star review and stewing, I called Sony Technical Support and discovered there’s a reset button that needs to be activated anytime the battery is disconnected. This reminded me that I didn’t fully RTFM. I’d jump straight over page 7 to the troubleshooting page. I’m raising my rating to 4 stars holding one back because I’ve seen better navigation menus. I would suggest to Sony that they place the reset button information at the top of the troubleshoot list. My complements to Sony Technical supportBefore I called Sony... remember to RTFM!After installing this head unit in a Jeep with a Polk 5 channel amp the subwoofer wouldn't work. Connected known good cables to no avail. After moving the subwoofer rca cables to the REAR channel on the amp you could hear the low frequencies. RMA'd the amp and ordered a new one. Received the new Polk amp connected it and the REAR channel wouldn't work but the subwoofer did. Removed the Polk amp and connected it to my trucks system that has the same amp installed. Yes, I like Polk amps! The amp tested GOOD... Now I'm four days past Amazon's 30 day warranty... Attempted to contact Sony and the head unit is so new that it's not listed on their warranty page. [sigh] I hope they will help via a phone call tomorrow but for now this will be my first and last Sony.

BEST head-unit for the money HANDS DOWN!
After doing some research and comparing different features, I purchased this Sony deck. It ABSOLUTELY SMOKES the Alpine head unit I had in car previously. The sound difference in the two was unbelieveable. I have Alpine type E 6x9's in rear deck and the Sony makes it sound as if I have a subwoofer back there. Pioneer components up front came alive as well. If you are planning on building up your system, this Sony has 3 SETS of pre-amp outputs, is Sirius capable, and bluetooth as well. Has a remote as well if your vehicle is large enough to require one. The color options are too many to list, so have fun matching them up to your vehicles dash lighting. If you're up in the air and cant decide, give this Sony a shot. I reccommend it and would definitely buy it again.

Great Radio and does work with iPhone 6
When I first purchased this radio I was unsure if it would work with the iPhone 6. I made a couple of calls to Sony and they said they never tested the radio with the 6.After installing and pairing my phone(which went smoothly) I installed the songPal app. The App is a complete waste of time in my opinion well almost you can adjust the EQ and other sound options from the app. But every time you turn the radio on it asks to Open App and you have to hit a button just to clear it very annoying. What I noticed when I tried to make my first call I hit the call button and it kept showing Set Pairing. My phone is already paired and streaming music.I found out that if you just push the enter button (the Volume knob) once, voice activation comes on and you can just say the person you want to call and Siri does the rest. I have the iPhone 6 plus and the streaming works flawless. When I get in the car I just tap the enter button and tell Siri what I want to listen to or it will just pick up where it left off with the music app you have playing ie: Pandora,iTunes etc and it starts to play.I also purchased the SiriusXM adapter. You get 3 months free and you can choose a music package as low as 11.39 a month. XM raido sounds ok not as good as streaming but close. After spending an hour or so messing with all the settings I think I finally have things set where I like them. Only thing I didn't like but knew when buying was it did not play MP3 CD's but you can use a jump drive for that. The illumination is very cool found a color that matches my dash lights.
