Works as described!
I needed to verify the boundary lines on my property, and also help my neighbor who wanted to put in a small fence for her dog.I found this item reliable, and I had read the reviews. It was easy to use and it came with a holster for carrying it around.Using a plot map and this tool, we were able to establish where the property lines were.As long as stakes are in the ground, it is useful. If in doubt, consult a surveyor to be sure.

Packaging…??
It was an almost 5 star then I got to open it and it’s rattling already. BUT., all is well it stayed in the box. If I might offer an opinion? Packing is key to return customers..tape on the end of the box would have been great. Just thinking out loud. Thanks for the product.

Hompo is actually the Garrett Pro?
I haven't had a chance to get out in the field yet but so far, so good.Ordered the Hompo and received a GP-Pointer (on box and actual detector). Looks just like the Hompo and I consider this an upgrade! It says Garrett Pro (GP) right on the instructions. Yay me and Thanks Amazon! Turned it on and it has great sound and vibration when in proximity of metal. Start at about 5" for larger metal objects and around 2-3" on the smaller stuff. Appears to be just what I need to go along with my Nox 800.If I have any issues, I'll update this review. 1/10/25

Best Budget Pinpointer
All the detectorists who have been at it awhile tout the other, expensive pinpointer as the one to buy. I’m on a fixed income, and this was more in my price range. I LOVE IT! I’ve used it on the beach, in the water, and in the woods. It has performed extremely well! And on one 9-volt battery since March; but my hunting trips are much shorter than average. This pinpointer is an excellent first tool.

Key finder
Dropped my small post box key on front(concrete ) step and thought it would be right there to pickup, but after looking for a few minutes knew it must have bounced off the concrete and into the grass in front of step. After looking around the step it felt like it vanished into nothingness. Looked on Amazon for an inexpensive metal detector and saw the Hompo for 23.00. Got some good reviews and received in two days. Waved it back and forth in front of the step and it started beeping in a tuft of grass . There it was. What a relief. Well worth the 23 bucks.

Surprisingly great purchase
I wanted a pin pointer for meta detecting but I was just starting out so I didn’t want to spend a ton of money. The name brand pointer was $150. I spent $27 on this one and I tell you I couldn’t be happier. Although this product seems to have mixed reviews, I found it does exactly what I want it to do. It has cut my time I half and easily locates small pieces of metal in the larger plugs I dig. I have used this on a dozen trips so far, put it in dirt, sand and a few inches of water and it still performs perfectly. I have used it for approximately 30 hours and have not had to change the battery yet. I love it and would definitely buy it again. I may buy another just as a back up. Love it!

Dead on second power up
Powered on once. Seemed to be working somewhat identifying coins as metal when placed before it but the distance was about an inch for it to respond. Would not power up again. Have to find a Staples 20 miles away to return. Sorry would not recommend.
