Broken
Overall it LOOKS alright. Won't be able to see it in use until my dad opens it on Christmas, but when I took it out of it's package upon arrival, I see the bottom part is cracked. Fixable, but I paid $30 for a good feeder, not a broken one. Better packaging recommended.

Worth the price
Seemed pricey at first but this feeder has been a source of amusement all summer. Small birds feed, play and sleep on it. Often jostling for position. Nice beveled top and routed base. Had a very wet few months but the feeder is holding up well. Squirrels don't even bother trying to get into it (but then they rarely get up the steel hanging plant stand our three feeders are on--lard or crisco mixed with cayenne pepper on the pole stops that after the first attempt)

Beautiful!
I put this birdfeeder outside my kitchen window and I watch all the finches eat their breakfast in the morning while I'm eating mine. It is beautiful and well constructed. It's easy to put the birdseed in, and attracts dozens of beautiful birds. I definitely would recommend it to anyone.

A lot smaller than it looks...
And the thistle seed goes everywhere. NOT recommended -- too expensive and really, there are much better feeders out there.

Squirrels will eat it up!
I've learned that wood is a very poor choice for a bird feeder as squirrels get hold of it and chomp on it. They jump on it and spin the seed all over the ground, where they and pigeons (!) eat it!

Winter Joy
"My bird feeder!", I thought with glee. I rushed to open it and it was better than I had anticipated. The wood is smooth and beautiful, a true work of art. The panels are glass, not plastic, and the pincone hanging on the bottom of it to ward off chipmunks was the perfect look for my mountain home. I have hung it just outside my kitchen window and anticipate a long cold winter ahead, but the promise of a show from birds outside my window helps me face the snowy season with courage. The instruction booklet inside explains the habits of birds and how to care for them and I am beginning to think maybe this could be the beginning of a new hobby! Betty

Beautiful feeder that finches will use.
I bought this feeder to replace "socks" filled with thistle seed, which attracted many goldfinches but looked ugly. I was very pleased with the appearance of the feeder (and the fact that it recycles scraps of wood), but wondered whether the birds would accept it. They do! I plan to buy more.

Nice feeder - Birds like It!
Bought this for my wife. It's a nice Nigerseed feeder. After only 2-3 days we had many birds coming to share the seed. Other reviews note the quality construction - I can affirm that, it's well and simply made.I'm glad I bought this feeder.
