The Ryzen 5 5600x is/was great
I bought mine at a time when the 5600x was on sale, and it came with the wraith stealth cooler. The R7 5700x was about 30 dollars more and no cooler., and the 5600xt was just hitting the market with no cooler either. As of this review all 3 of these processors are within 3 dollars of each other. This processor does run warm with the wraith stealth. Its a great proven processor for 5 years now. If your reading this however, and the market is still within a couple of bucks of each other, get an R7 5700x and an aftermarket cooler. Its the same processor with 2 extra cores. I now use a Thermalright Assasin King 120 SE cooler and see a 20-30 degree C temp drop for 20 bucks. I review that as well.

Exceptional Value and Performance – AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
The AMD Ryzen 5 5600X is an outstanding processor for gamers and creators looking to strike a balance between performance, efficiency, and cost. With its 6 cores, 12 threads, and included Wraith Stealth cooler, it delivers remarkable value in a competitive CPU market.Technical Specifications:Cores/Threads: 6 cores, 12 threadsBase/Boost Clock Speeds: 3.7 GHz base, 4.6 GHz max boostArchitecture: Zen 3 (7nm process)L3 Cache: 32MBTDP: 65WPerformance Benchmarks:Single-Core Performance:The Ryzen 5 5600X’s Zen 3 architecture delivers industry-leading single-core performance. In Cinebench R23, it scores ~1,600 in single-core, outperforming the Intel i5-11600K and rivaling higher-tier processors. This translates directly into smooth performance in games and snappy application responsiveness.Multi-Core Performance:With 6 cores and 12 threads, it handles multitasking and productivity tasks well. In Cinebench R23 multi-core, it scores ~11,000—ideal for workloads like video editing, streaming, and rendering, though heavy-duty creators might look to higher-core processors.Gaming Performance:Paired with a mid-to-high-end GPU, the 5600X excels in gaming. It consistently hits high frame rates in 1080p and 1440p:Cyberpunk 2077 (1080p Ultra): ~90 FPS (RTX 3060 Ti)Shadow of the Tomb Raider (1080p High): ~140 FPSCS:GO (Competitive Settings): ~400 FPSIts single-core prowess ensures low latency and smooth gameplay even in CPU-intensive titles.Thermals and Power Efficiency:Operating at a mere 65W TDP, the 5600X is remarkably power-efficient, outperforming similar Intel chips in performance-per-watt metrics. The included Wraith Stealth cooler is adequate for stock settings, keeping temperatures in the mid-70s under load. For overclocking, an aftermarket cooler is recommended for lower temperatures and quieter operation.Ease of Integration:Thanks to AMD’s AM4 socket compatibility, the Ryzen 5 5600X is compatible with a wide range of motherboards, including budget-friendly B450 boards (with a BIOS update) and newer B550/X570 options for PCIe 4.0 support. great intersection of price and performance
Built a AM4 PCIE 4.0 rig for streaming/gaming/video editing with this CPU, great intersection of price and performance ($105 when I got it). Been building AMD PC's for over a decade, the CPU's have always been reliable in my experience.
