As good as a new device
I purchased this renewed Garmin drive 52 LMT after my previous one was stolen.Although it is a refurbished device at a lower price it works perfectly well as good as a new one.If you have any doubts about its quality you can add a protection warranty for a minimal extra fee for 3 years. What I really do not like is its battery life which is even shorter than 1 hour therefore we have always need to keep under charge connected to car adaptor when driving unless you may use it outdoors.Overall it is a good bargain for this price while a new same model will cost at least 70$ higher. Time will tell if I may regret it but the previous Garmin Nuvi 2589 worked well over 3 years which was also a refurbished device without any problems at all I suggest all buyers of new devices renewed or not to fully charge their Garmin at home with a powerfull wall adaptor (at least 2A output) before first use other vice the device won't turn on.Garmin ships them with almost a depleted battery as a safety measure .I was almost going to return it until I searched on Garmin web site that it will fail to turn on with an empty battery even it is connected to a low power charger/computer.

Best GPS I ever owned
This GPS is so easy to use. Also I updated the maps and it worked with no issues. When I first used this GPS it even picked up some driveways That had no name. Love it!!!

Great GPS, but some confusion as to whether traffic feature actually works...
This renewed product arrived in great condition and functions as expected, except for one thing: IT DOES NOT RECEIVE TRAFFIC! it shipped with a regular power cord instead of the GTM 36 Traffic Receiver cord that would have been included if I purchased the new version of this item. Without the traffic receiver this item is just an overpriced Garmin Drive 52. Disappointing!*****The above is my initial review, which I am revising based on my current experience and knowledge. The traffic feature took a while to connect with the proper services. Other online descriptions of this product describe a very bulky looking power and traffic cable. Since that cable was not supplied with the unit I got I jumped to the conclusion that I got the wrong cable. This was untrue. The cable I received (TA 10) works with the traffic feature. Since the cable acts as an antenna its placement will determine whether or not your Garmin Drive connects with the traffic feature. After some fussing I was eventually able to connect to traffic. Whether or not the traffic data is updated frequently enough or whether the Garmin Drive is actually able to steer me around traffic jams in real-time is still unknown, but I am giving Garmin the benefit of the doubt. I am subtracting one star from my review because of all the confusion created by the traffic reception not being made really clear to me from the start.

Pretty good unit
Refurbished item works perfectly for us, beats having to subscribe to online site and have to pay attention to phone while driving

The price and reliability
This Garmin look great in my dash and it was not too expensive.I like that it announces the names of oncoming roads, street names and highlighted lane I need to be in along with voice instructions.I can see the clear screen, crisp signs and names at the glanceI appreciate the reminder to slow down when speed limit change to avoid speed traps.I like using my Garmin over using my phone because it keeps my phone free for phone calls. So far I would recommend this model.

No need for this type of product any longer
With all the free smart phone apps available, particularly WAYZ these gps systems are now obsolete. It does work and function well, for what it is though. I prefer Garmin over tom tom

Good, but very basic
A basic choice. Keep expectations reasonable. The touch screen interface is OK, but not great. Don't expect much from the traffic alerts. On a recent trip, it did alert us to a couple of construction zones, but missed several more.

Good clear display, updates work, a nice instrument to have when touring cross country.
