Maybe you think scotch magic tape is too expensive and there are so many knockoff brands that are cheaper. You are right. There are. I know because thats what I thought and I bought some truly terrible copycat tape. Complete waste of money.Compared to Scotch Magic Tape (SMT)...*SMT tears off easily in an average dispenser. Others need actual scissors to cut." SMT is easy to start. Scratch the little tab with a nail and pull. It never rips down the center into impossible to get tape triangles. Its easy enough to take for granted. Other brands make me really have to work on my anger management practices.* You can carefully peel SMT off the thinnest tracing paper without tearing and it sticks to nearly anything. Other brands have a sticky paradox going on. They won't stick to paper but glue to your fingertips, or alternatively they stick to only the items you'd like to remove them from and there is no amount of gentleness that will help you not to shred the taped item.* SMT is easy to write on with pen or pencil, even sometime erase if youre really motivated. Other brands turn into an inky mess that will just run off on you and leave you with black fingertips.* SMT comes with hefty rolls that last a surprisingly long time. The other 'value' brands aren't even half as much but the just look like it.If you cannot tell, I am leaving THIS review because I thought I might save a few bucks for my garment pattern drafting (which uses a lot of tape) by buying the off brand. What a total waste of money! It made me appreciate my more expensive, yes, but also 100% reliable, effective, and helpful SMT rolls so much more that I am compelled to share the truth with you all. Just buy THIS product. Don't waste your time and money with any other. Buy the Scotch brand, and then take it for granted because you won't want to pull out your hair (or actually literally pull your hair out by getting cheap tape stuck in it because you were trying to start a new roll and all hell broke loose.)I will NEVER buy another brand again.

this is scotch tape, you can’t beat the original. it’s great for wrapping presents, but i have found a unique purpose for it. i do a lot of sous vide cooking, and use the common vacuum sealable bags with the blue zip lock, and blue vacuum valve. if you have ever read reviews on these bags, they get a bad rap. the vacuum valve is said to not seal very well after pulling a vacuum on the bag. well a little piece of scotch tape seals the valve, and stays on in the freezer, and even stays on when you put the bag in a pot of water on the stove to heat up the meal inside, no leaks! this three pack of tape rolls is a great value, you actually get a 1000 inches on each roll, that’s 250 feet!

Scotch Magic Tape is the only tape I like to use. I've tried off brand tapes and I always end up with the tape splitting down the middle and then having to pick at the roll trying to get the full width of the tape available again. With Scotch Magic Tape I've never had that problem. It is always easy to use, it sticks well, and once you press down on it, it is almost invisible. Scotch is a great brand and I am happy to continue using their products.

Classic, and overpriced.Scotch quality is worth the difference between some cheaper brand that requires a handsaw to cut and this workable offering from a trustworthy manufacturer.
