I wasn’t sure about purchasing this from the mixed reviews. However, I have used it around my garden and it does seem to change. I can’t say how accurate the pH testing is but from the plants growing in different parts of my garden I’d say it seems quite accurate (I have a very happy camellia and the soil does seem slightly more acidic in that part of the garden). Definitely works for wet and dry soil. I would purchase again.

very useful during the summer to see how damp the veggie patch is when watering. Also tested the PH and seems fine. not sure what to use the light meter for though.
