Q: I need to clear out a large area of overgrown grass/weeds. Will this do the trick? The grass is too high for a push mower

It will do the job. It will be a lot of hard work. I would have garden trash bags ready to fill as you go. Depending how tall the weeds are you might also consider some sort of scythe. to chop down to size. Then a lawn mower (remember this will not remove the roots) to cut it shorter than use the the weed puller. A scuffle hoe would be really useful too. If I were standing in front of this yard it sounds like a "are you kidding me" job.

Q: Is the other side supposed to be sharp? (Serrated edge sure but the other smooth edge)? Mine is flat like it should be but blunt dull edge

There is nothing in the description that says it should be sharp and mine is thinner on the edge but not sharp. There is no reason that you could not sharpen it if that is your preference.

Q: Will this get the roots of the thorny weeds I have everywhere in my yard?

It should. You have to work it around the deep root and tug gently or the root will break. There is better tool to use on the stubborn weeds though.

Q: Will this remove weeds between pavers/bricks?

I think it would be hard to remove weeds between bricks or concrete because you’d have to be able to pierce the blade into the ground so the “teeth” could grip around the weed. The bricks or concrete may block the tool from piercing into the ground appropriate in order to grip/grab the weed.
