Many, many possibilities--Easy to reconfigure
What I really like is the capability of building dozens of different robots--quickly. In the app (I use an iPad), one can choose from dozens and dozens of "robot examples." Within less than five minutes, the current creation can become a new operating "critter." Just select a robot of interest and the app will let you know if you have enough components (I have the "full" kit, which allows you to build most everything). In the app, you specify the quantity of each component you have, then it compares those numbers against the components required to build a specific bot. The app will guide you, one piece at a time, to the construction of the new bot. If you use the wrong piece, or orient the piece incorrectly, the app will show you before going to the next step. When assembled, a control screen will appear on the app (to drive, pinch or do whatever the bot is supposed to do). Honestly, you can construct (click the pieces together) and operate a complex critter in two or three minutes.I haven't tried to build or program my own creation--yet. First time setup (download app, firmware update to components, wifi setup) probably requires more expertise than a typical eight year old will possess. Constructing "Bic", "Bac" or one of many "app provided" bots is easy and should be quite doable by an eight year old. After building and running sample bots, there is ample room to grow by creating and programming your own combinations. For someone who enjoys "making things," this is an excellent introduction into robotics.

Clicbot just works - and yet is very advanced in features.
ClicBot is an amazing learning platform for robotics. At the basic level it takes minutes to put together a custom configuration and it "just works". We made a drivable robot for the first iteration and it was surprisingly easy to enable and drive around. The coding allows you to build really in depth programs easily and is a great introduction to how code works. Best consumer friendly home robot we've seen so far (and we have a lot of robots!).

Delivered defectives
From one sad little boy to another dad, stay away from this company. Product was a present. And product was delivered. Defective. Left in the box for two months and now it doesn’t work at all. Outside of the return. And money down the drain.

Good Possibilities but Not Ready for Mass Market
I read the varying on line reviews and decided to give it a try. This product has good potential, but at least for me proved to be too complicated to get it to work. The app instructions are written in a "English" that is difficult to decipher. For example, one is told to connect modules at the 'flashlight'--what is meant is at the 'flashing light'. After over an hour of trying, we could not get even the first robot (BAC) to work. Unfortunately. therefore decided to return. Maybe next year it will be developed enough to try again.

Easy to use and gets kids interested in technology
We have built 3 of the included example robots and my kids and I really enjoyed it. They are already raving to their friends about our new robot. My kids had a hard time with the strength necessary to click together some of the pieces but it was not a big deal. They are now asking when they can start coding their own robots.

Most advanced "toy" I have
I am a software engineer who wants to get into robotics, and Clickbot really amazes me. I used to have a $200 coding robot, but got bored after a few days. But with Clicbot's infinite possibilities, I feel like I could play it for years! So far I've shared two unique designs with the community and got many likes. I am really into this concept. I hope it could truly evolve into the LEGO of robot toys someday. Yes, it's a bit pricey, but I see no better alternatives if you want some creative robot toys either for STEM education or just for fun.

Excellent design and quality
A very clever, kid-friendly, beautifully designed product. The animations and sounds are charming. I love that it can be a dog, a car, a scooter, and a friendly worm, depending on how it is configured. Highly recommended to anyone interested in the future of consumer robotics.

Really innovative robot
The media could not be loaded. I had a slow start. The brain that came withy Christmas present was dead. The company was super responsive and sent me another one within a couple of days. It was a little disappointing not having it on Christmas.I love how easy it is to reconfigure. I realize now that automating motion is a lot harder than it looks. The guys in the videos make it look so easy.I do worry a little about pulling apart the pieces. Some of them seem looser now.If anyone has programmed sensor motion control on large equipment you will appreciate how easily it senses what is connected to the brain. The only thing that would have been nice was to be able to see what the camera is seeing when running the program. I haven't dug into the scripting yet, but hope to soon.If they could continue the "how to" videos that would be great as well.Really fun, I'm not sure if all 8 yr olds would understand it though. I'm so happy my husband got this for me on Christmas.
