Using this pump for an in ground pool. The recommended pump size is 1.5 hp.The pump comes with glue on PVC fittings for 1.5" and 2" PVC. I am using 1.5" PVC.There is a very large basket which requires little maintenance. The top of the reservoir is easy to remove and install for cleaning debris.The control panel is easy to operate and has various programmable settings with 4 scheduled modes. The default program is fine for most applications but can be changed for any application.In winter where it's only freezing at night, where the pump is in use it would be best to change the start time where the pump runs at night while it's cold. It can also be set to run 24 hours, running on low most of the time to prevent freezing and run on higher speed enough to maintain pool or run cleaner as needed.Any of the 4 scheduled modes can be used manually and there is a quick clean mode which is used manually for a cleaner or other application needing to run the programmed speed and dyration. Pump speed and duration is programmable in the 5 different modes.When the pump is scheduled to be off pressing any of the 5 mode buttons will run that programmed speed and duration and return to the schedule after that cycle completes.Upon loss of electricity the pump will come back up with the automatic schedule and run buttons on when power is restored. The clock should hold the time for about 24 hours of power loss and the programmed schedule should save for several days without power.If clock time is lost the pump will still run on the programmed schedule although the time will be off. If programmed schedule were lost the pump will run the default schedule.The pump is fairly quiet in operation depending on the programmed speed it's running.The first schedule is set to the higher speed to prime the pump. I have had no problem with the pump priming.Only had it for 3 weeks so I cannot comment on longevity.

After my original pump quit I suspected a clogged drain. Tested skimmer and it was ok. Blew out main drain and not sure if clogged or not. After blowing drain clear I did my homework and was interested after reading the one review whereas the comment was that the pool seemed cleaner than ever. I have never been happy how clean my pool seemed and used alot of clorine. I bought this pump, replumbed to install, set up program and voila. Pool IS cleaner than ever was (was it the drain or the pump?), runs noticeably quieter, runs at less rpms, and did I mention my electric bill dropped by $40.00. I'm glad I purchased. Appears to be the same as a pentair whisper Flo but a whole lot cheaper. It will pay for itself. Very satisfied, recommend. Also qualified for energy rebate.

I was weary of buying an "off brand" pump, but also didn't want to go over budget. I checked out with a third party 3 year warranty for some piece of mind. But this pump has been installed for a few weeks and it has exceeded every expectation! Super easy to set schedule(doesn't even need a timer box) it is "smart" lol so far it completely blows my old 1hp single speed pentair out of the water. I have this on a 6 hour schedule(less than recommended) and my pool has never been this clean without me having to brush and skim constantly on my last pump. This pump has made my life easier and I cannot wait to see how much money I saved on my electric since it has 4 speeds, I only assume the people complaining about setting timer or having leaks have no idea what they are doing when comes to install. Plumb it right, follow the manual and it was a breeze. I would highly recommend this pump to anyone. It is 90% quieter than my last pump, and my pool is much more cleaner than ever before. I wish I had made this purchase a long time ago, and with the third party warranty I am worry free for three years and I expect it to pay for itself by the time summer has ended in electricity alone. Not to mention the hours of my life I'm saving not having to scrub and skim everyday.

I like how the product runs since it was installed in July. The pool professional left the owner's guide on the ground, and it was soaking wet, when I found it. The pages stuck together so I could not register my product. I was able to get the customer service number from the front page and called them to get my pump warrantee registered and got a voice recording and then the recording hung up. I do not know how to maintain the pump either since I cannot read the manual. I hope they read this so they can make themselves more accessible to their customers.

Nice and Quiet. Variable speed not as strong as I thought it would be for a 1.5 HP.My 1.0 HP. Had more RPM it went to 3800 variable speed pentair. Let’s see how many years I get out of this one.
