Q: Can this be used in a self-contained way, simply by looking at the machine's ecg read-out, without connecting either to a 'phone or a pc? thank you.

the 6 cm screen shows a live ecg tracing, and a pressure waveform and the O2 saturation simultaneuosly for the duration of the 20 second tracking period. The tracing is automatically recorded and can be played back at any time.

Q: Does the software work on Mac OS?

Hi Innes, there is no PC software for this model as far as now, but we are working on it! Keep your eye on it, will inform you when it's available.

Q: Does this ecg measure corrected qt interval (qtc)?

This monitor detects the following: PVC : Suspected Premature Beat : QRS : QRS interval too wide : QTc : QTc interval too wide : Irregular : Irregular heartbeat : T : fast rate, tachycardia and AF: Suspected Atrial Fibrillation . I don't think it corrects qtc but simply reports if it is 'too wide'.

Q: Can the monitor perform long term continuous monitoring, for example 8 to 12 hours, and store the results for later examination?

No, it is for single readings at a point in time. Though you can take one reading after another, however, as both hand would be occupied that wouldn't be a practical solution to do continually for any extended period. If you need 24 hour monitoring your health care professional should arrange the equipment.
