Q: I see in descriptions about ghs38 speed more than 6000r/m? how much 3600ppr for 6000r/m?

sorry, 6000 RPM is the theoretical rotational speed, but it can only be around 3000 rpm in practice.

Q: If we wanted to connect this to an arduino and its interrupt pins what would we hook up a-, b-, z- to?

Greetings, It depends on whether you want to look at speed, or speed and direction. For speed, just the A, or B is enough and even the Z would give an once per revolution feedback. For speed and direction, you'll need A and B.

Q: What is the difference between 5v with line driver vs npn 5-26v vs push-pull 5-26v? (i know the latter 2 have larger voltage ranges, but what else?)

I'm going to say the 5 volt line driver is designed for TTL logic device input. The NPN output models may only source a voltage and current, and they may have a resister tied at the emitter to ground for the reference of zero volts at no output signal. And the Push Pull models can either source a current or sink a current ( is this a stacked Totem pole design ? ). I ordered a 5 volt line driver for my CNC lathe spindle ( my Milltronics schematic said a 5 volt supply to the encoder), and it worked fine for my encoder input to the main control computer.

Short answer, no, not directly. Long answer: The output of the encoder is two signals in quadrature and must be converted to pulse and direction. If you're handy, you can build a circuit board using the LS7084 chip from LSI/CSI Semiconductor, do a search for the datasheet. If you're not quite as handy, US Digital makes the PC6 which uses that chip. In either case, you won't need the line driver outputs (true and complement) of this encoder, better would be open collector NPN with pull up resistors. Also, unless you are using microstepping, this encoder may have too many pulses of output per turn (4000 with full quadrature decoding) to control the position of the motor accurately, you may want to look at 100 PPR instead.
