Does the job well for an OK price
I researched quite a bit for a 2-slot modem router form the basis of a new internet/wifi system. I have been on Three, which has been on and off abysmal for around £23/month. Constant slow and unreliable connections on 5G. So, while this is 4G only, I am getting faster speeds and total connection reliability. The two slots mean I could have, say, Vodafone and EE with the router switching for the best connection as needed. I am getting similar performance now from Vodafone or EE, while for me, Three and O2 remain close to hopeless. YMMV as it'll depend on your local circumstances. The setup was OK, but not super easy. The SIM is pretty much plug-and-play and then activated with your provider. 50GB data per month is around £10 so I am quids in. I would recommend going this route if you are struggling with a 5G connection or, like me, only have slow telephone line alternatives - no cable/fibre here!

At last found one that works
I tried some 5G router/modems. They all developed faults and were much more expensive. I then went for 4G and this was the second one I tried. Good speed and reliable. Works very well with Smarty data SIM.

Faultless
Wonderful. After years of paying £45 a month for patchy wifi and a landline we didn't use, I finally gave up and bought this and an unlimited sim. The result has been far better than I could have imagined. We can have several devices running simultaneously without. Streaming TV, Video calls etc no problems and we've significantly reduced our costs

Cudy has all the features I am looking for -- But what about the performance?
I was looking for a router that has the options: 4G + WAN + OPENVPN, cudy has it all.First I bought a LT400 and tested it with the WAN option via my BT Full Fibre 425Mbps. Guess what I got 15Mbps speed through Cudy LT400 without openvpn.. I was wasting 415Mbps of BT fibre bandwidth by using LT400 router in between. Then I though I will buy a LT700 and tested it with the WAN option via my BT Full Fibre 424Mbps.. Now I am getting 94 Mbps max without openVPN and 20 Mbps with openVPN. I reached out to Cudy customer support who did not provide any meaningfull support. Assuming this LT700 is a faulty device, I returned this LT700 and got a replacement.. Repeated the test with or without VPN and the performance is only around 90 Mbps via WAN, 20 Mbps via openvpn (WAN) and 2 Mbps via 4G SIM and openvpn..In all scenerios, I turned off all the internet accessing devices at home; used ethernet and wifi to talk to CUDY's 5G wifi as well as via ethernet.. Verified Firmware was up-to-date..Nothing has changed or improved the peformance. While I like the features of the Cudy, I don't like the performance when I connected via Cudy LT400 or LT700.Using software VPN on my Samsung S24+, then sharing it as a hotspot works much faster than the Cudy routers.. I am sorry to say, I have to return this routers back. I will wait for a better version.

Can’t select ‘3G only’ for areas with weak 4G : Review updated : See below.
I checked before buying that this router could connect through 3G and 4G which it will.At home I have a weak 4G signal and strong 3G signal at present so wanted to be able to connect to 3G only to ensure a reliable connection.Sadly, unlike my 4G Huawei router that I wanted to upgrade, there is no facility on the Cudy to connect to 3G only.Otherwise it seems a good unit.So I’m sadly packing it away in its box until hopefully my 4G signal improves and sticking with my old Huawei for now.I missed the return window as it’s taken me a while to get around to setting it up!Update: After reading this review Cudy Technical Support have been fabulous and have coded me a work-around. Absolutely 1st Class. Updated review to 5 stars. Thank you Cudy!

Easy to set up and use!
I think the extra antennas must be useful because while I could only get 25mbps DL from my phone, the router can pick up over 100 mbps! It's super easy to set up too. Just follow the instructions and plug in your nano sim card. It only took it about a minute to pick up the signal and I was ready to go!

Not set up as a 4g router straight away
Not plug and play, we installed this with a vodafone unlimited data sim. Couldn't get it to work, went through all the settings on the router and eventually found it was blocking cellular data, had to copy the info off the vodafone website and manually enter into the router for it to work. Not an easy install like different brands we use.
