Good yet difficult to set up
Although I gave five stars I do have concerns. Firstly, I admit it sounds great with a pair of lossless earphones. That said there were no instructions and it took me week to set up.Okay, I know you are thinking it's Android and any idiot can use Android. Well, yes and no. Yes, it's easy to use but it took a week to get half my playlists downloaded in lossless quality and working. Furthermore, there were periods of thinking the thing wasn't working and hours of searching Reddit for solutions. In the end I had to do things like go into Developer Mode and change the battery settings; transfer my playlists from Spotify to Tidal (not free); change settings so it didn't go into deep sleep when downloading songs; wait long periods of time while it buffered after downloading playlists and suchlike.Perhaps it was just me but setting up seems to need instructions which are definitely lacking. Yet now it's working I love it despite the fact that I considered returning it on several occasions.

Another step forward for DAP’s
Like a lot of people I suspect, I had fallen into the routine of using my smartphone for listening to music, as it’s super easy to have all your music in one place and it goes everywhere with you.Not that I am an audiophile, but I always want to get the best I can from my devices, and that meant using a separate DAC/AMP with my phone and wired headphones. Generally this works, but what it does introduce is a heap of usability issues of having to carry cables, adapters, two devices and finally headphones. This for me was not sustainable.Enter the HiBy Digital M300. My main aim was two-fold, I wanted a player that would simplify my set up, and secondly would sound good. My previous DAP (Activo CT-10) fixed the first ask, but the second, sound quality was very lacklustre. So after a lot of watching reviews, I wanted a device that was small, connected to the major streaming platforms (I personally use Apple Music), and would allow me to store my music offline. It came down between this and the HiBy R4, but in the end, the specs are very similar and the M300 is smaller.I have been using the M300 for a few days, and I am not disappointed on two fronts. Firstly, for a small device, it is perfectly usable for someone with big hands like me! The Android 13 software whilst not lightning quick, is fast and responsive, and my music library of over 300GB of downloaded music scrolls perfectly well. The other aspect was the sound quality, and I am pleased to say this is a marked step up from my last DAP device. Using no EQ, MSEB or PEQ at all, I have found the M300 to sound clean, crisp and fairly neutral. I have used a variety of headphones and IEM’s including a pair of planar magnetic beasts, and whilst I have to push to volume from the M300 to +70% they drive them fine and sound good. All this in a small, compact and flexible device that can sit in a pocket and I avoid cable hell!I bought this through Amazon warehouse, and got a bargain at £149. In my opinion, this is excellent value for money at full price, offering a lot of functionality and great sound quality for everyday listening.I use Apple Music along with a microSD card in the M300 to store my downloaded high resolution lossless files. Works perfectly.

Dont get caught up in the hype.
After reading many reviews on DAP's (Digital Audio Players) i finally thought i had picked the best one (for the budget). The M300 is a nice player and very easy to use. I think my expectations were a bit too high. The android system is nice, but made me realise i dont want an android based player. Ultimately though, on a blind A/B test with my older SONY NW-A45, I could NOT differentiate, so seemed pointless in buying a new dap.

Happy with my purchase
Fantastic sound quality when playing FLAC music files or streaming from Amazon coupled with Austrian Audio M60 studio headphones. Battery life if screen is on is short, but with screen off when playing music is adequate. Software includes equaliser etc. but I found using them detrimental to the sound quality. Enjoying all types of music using factory settings. When coupled to my mains powered headphone DAC there is no improvement in sound quality only more range in volume.

QC Control Issues
I'm not sure what to think about hiby's qc, when a device in a factory sealed package, has what seems to be internal display damage or manufacturing residue, right from taking it out of the package. If it's the latter, hopefully the damages won't spread and are getting worse over time.See red square on the picture. This mark is not outside and can't be cleaned.

Good value
Excellent piece of kit. Sound reproduction very good whether using ear buds or headphones. Easy to transfer music to. Battery lasts a long time.

Terrible user interface. No instructions
Bought this unit for the promised versatility offerd by it's much acclaimed MSEB and equaliser.Unfortunately I couildn't use either. The font size is so small as to be practically unreadabale even using my reading specs, which Iuse to read with not to listen to music, especially when "out and about"Legends on some buttons illegible due to lack of contrast betwee legend and background colour.Sliders too close together, slider buttons too small and screen too unresponsive. may work with a stylus but useless with my fingers which are no larger than average.A couple of pages in English showing the function of the buttons in anotherwise Chinese leafletNo English instructions whatseover regarding the HiBy music player app. Spent 2 hours trying to figure it out but abandoned the strugglem. Even if I ever did figure it out I couldn't use it for the reasons given above.Sound O.K. out of the box, which is as well since I never would have been able to alter it!Returned same day.Thank goodness for Amazon return policy.

Looks nice terrible audio
According to the reviews the audio on this player was brilliant, don't know what they were comparing it to but my 7 year old fiio was miles better, shame its on its way out.
