Does a lot, but could be better.
This scanner is a great scanner for the price! The only downside is that you have to have it plugged into either a vehicle or a charge cable in order to update or even turn it on. But other than that, it is a great scanner, especially for the price!

Solid mid grade scanner, lifetime support but no options for upgraded functionality
First, the instruction manual that came with it doesn't seem to match the product. Also, this requires lots of updates before you can use it.The wi-fi on the device is pretty impressive - it reaches pretty far, maybe 40-50 feet. But I ultimately had to bring it inside and power it on via USB to let it update. It took about 15 minutes to update. After that I connected to the vehicle and it read the codes just fine. I will say that it seems to take a while - my other ThinkCar products have the codes in seconds, whereas this took about 4-5 minutes to scan everything.I have some confusion about this brand in general. They seem to have a gazillion products (MuCar, ThinkCar, etc), and a gazillion different models of each, but I don't understand the difference. I own several of their products, and still don't understand the difference.I will report, however, however, that I have a generally high opinion of all of their products EXCEPT the MuCar bluetooth dongles. I could never get them to work, and customer support was lacking on those products.I did notice one difference - on ALL the ThinkCar OBD scanners that I've tested, they have all sorts of advanced upgrades you can buy and download (transmission, etc). But this one doesn't have any optional upgrades. It's a mid range OBD reader with lots of functionality, much better than basic scanners. But it has no advanced functions and no option to download extra features. On my Nissan it scans 8 systems (engine, ECU, ABS, etc), and can has live monitoring of about 40 things (voltage, MPG, speed, tachometer, etc). More advanced scanners can monitor hundreds of things.I love the build quality of it. The touch screen is fantastic. It takes videos and pictures. It automatically stores all your codes. It has plenty of settings to set it up the way you want (metric vs SAE, time zone, screen layout, etc). It's a great mid range scanner, good value. It does not have a storage case, which I feel is pretty essential. I like keeping a basic OBD in the car at all times, and I like to keep a nicer one in the garage. Both situations require a case.

Not worth the extra money
Update: it did not in fact update the firmware so it gave an error message when running scan on car. There’s no room to update it anymore without buying a microsd card. So definitely not worth the extra money to buy this scanner. Also the main feature I was looking for was the brake bleeding function. This scanner said my vehicle did not support it. Which is untrue. You need to run this function for the electronic brake reset. I bought a different computer from Amazon that ran the protocol seamlessly. So the truck does support it, just not this scanner.Out of the box you will need to connect to WiFi to update the vehicle library’s. It will run out of room if you try to update all. Then it runs a bios update. I was afraid since it left a handful of vehicles not updated that this would fail as well but it seems to go through. Took it out to my truck and it doesn’t offer half of what was promised. It is pretty much just an ODB2 scanner with a color touch screen that gives words what is wrong instead of just a code. Not worth the ten times markup that I paid for my original code reader IMHO. For what I paid for this a was expecting a few extras. Instead I got half of the features promised and a somewhat confusing interface. The first screen in the photo makes it seem like it is point and click. But you have to go through several different screens and selections before you get into the meat of the OBC/ECB. I was not pleased. I will be returning.
