I didn’t want to spend all the money and make the appointment to install a camera, especially knowing I’d have to keep a screen around too. This works great. Followed the instructions and got the insurance.. just in case!

I received this today, and it appears to be almost useless on an Android phone with the wifi method of connecting that it uses rather than using Bluetooth, which appears to not be a option.

This did exactly what I wanted except it fails in the human interface.Using an app, you pair to the device. The pairing itself isn't the problem. The interface on the device makes it difficult to do the next steps - the app supports several different types of products so you first have to select the type of product you have and then select the product you're using. Once you've done that it will always show as a configured device tho' you still have to step through the earlier choices each time to get there.Switch from the backup app involves steps to return to your normal phone use. Getting back to the app and camera takes the steps noted above. Quickly switching from phone to app and back is awkward.Changing from an Android to an iPhone is difficult too - I ended up deleting one to use the other and vice versa. There's probably a better way but I was frustrated at this point.In the end, I realized my frustration was not just with the product but also with the recognition I really wanted a dedicated backup camera. And that's when I stopped messing with this any longer and packed it back up.I do have to say that I got outstanding technical support from the manufacturer. My initial unit had limited wifi range and wouldn't detect the camera from inside the car. They quickly responded and helped me confirm there was indeed a problem with the camera. I was able to get a replacement via Amazon.

Easy to setup the camera and focus it on the correct distance for reversing. The app connects wirelessly and provides a clear picture with guiding lines. The solar panel keeps it charged as I have rarely had to charge it manually. MY one criticism is that I would like to be able to reconfigure the wireless router to be part of my car wifi so that I can switch from Waze to Type S app on my phone and instantly have a rear view.

Installation and setup were easy. Thicker than it looks in photos. But the connection time to open the app, connect to the cameras WiFi, and then actually start showing the rear view made it practically useless. Add the times it failed to connect or was just black and I was left disappointed. Returned.

UPDATE: CAMERA DIED FROM WATER INTRUSION AFTER A COUPLE MONTHS USE. SOFTWARE IS GARBAGE AND TAKES 1 MINUTE OR LONGER TO BE ABLE TO SEE VIDEO. THIS PRODUCT IS USELESS AND A WASTE OF MONEY. DO NOT BUY!

The camera holder partially blocked license plateBluetooth worked ok.Installed easily. App was ok.Obviously the camera does not turn on automatically when shifting into reverse so not as useful as I hoped. Return was easy.
