Extra storage on the cheap!
This product allows me to add an extra terabyte & a half to my iPhone. It works flawlessly and my phone registers the Sd cards right away. It stays attached to the phone with strong MagSafe and has a magnetic cap that conceals the sd card and protects them from getting lost. Also, has a usb-c charger connection for allowing charging while using the phones connector. Easily back up your iPhone when you run out storage.

Changed my review to awesome rather than Magnet Defective
After further investigation, the product did not have a defective magnet. Issue was my phone case, product works as intended. Customer service is awesome as well. Changed my original review, see below:Unfortunately I didn’t take out of the box before the return window ended…it barely stays attached to my phone or phone case. The magnet is very weak/defective.My bad for not looking at right after delivered but not happy with it.

Almost perfect
if you use the black magic camera application on your iPhone, or just want an easy way to all transfer your photos and video, this is an inexpensive must have device. The problem with recording video on Apple devices is you are severely limited in file naming conventions, and continuity when moving files from your phone to a PC or Mac via software. Depending on how you store your files on a hard drive, the naming can be a real headache as you can accidentally overwrite an earlier file.Apple makes it unnecessarily difficult to grab stuff off of your iPhone to aid their attempts at ecosystem lock-in.for less money than one of those fancy SSD mag-safe drives, you can either directly record to an SD card or transfer files from your phone to a card, and then to a computer — any computer, no special software required!for Apple recorded videos, just save your media to an SD card. unplug the device when you’re sure everything was saved and unplug it right into your computer to read it and put it in better long-term storage. if you want special file names, you still have to do that by hand – but I find it much better than hooking my phone directly to a computer and dealing with some turdacious software.if you are using the black magic camera app: black magic stores the video files to be specifically available via “files” within the iPhone. I recommend using black magic’s file naming convention, so the files will be easily differentiated from standard Apple fare. I further recommend instead of “moving the files“ you copy and paste to ensure file integrity, and when satisfied delete the files from your phone.as for the “almost perfect“ title: I can’t use this with my Neewer iPhone cage since the plug cannot slip past the little opening in the cage. I suspect if you have one of those super cases with a small opening for the USB-C port you too might be out of luck.in my case, it is easy enough to slip the phone out of the cage, connect the drive, transfer the data, and return the phone to the cage— but no on the fly recording to the drive. since I got my phone with more storage than my previous models specifically for video, it’s a small hindrance, but if you were tight on space and are using a snug frame like Neewer or smallrig, you might run into issues.I don’t see this being a problem if you are using a universal phone cage that clamps the phone. I may go that route later, but for now this does what I got it to do.See the photos to get an idea of what I’m talking about and make the best decision for you, but I gotta tell you: this has solved many problems for me without spending hundreds of dollars or juggling stupid software to move data from my iPhone to a computer.

Perfect way to expand your storage for a trip.
I took this on vacation with my family to San Francisco. I stored movies on it and recorded video to it when we travelled, it was great. It’s nice not feeling like I am needing to delete stuff from my phone in order to record what I want.

Trash
Very cheaply made doesn’t even work. I tried multiple of my SD cards and it does not read any of them.

Smart and Convenient!
It looks sleek and is easy to use—I’m impressed, as expected from a well-known brand.I’d be even happier if they offered more color options.

Works great if you pick up a compatible sd card
The product works great I've used it a couple of times now. However Amazon should link better what sd cards are compatible with this product if you have an iphone with USBC USB3 standard the memory you should get to record 4K 120 ProRes should be at least 200MB/s write speeds such as https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08YF7PB14?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_2&th=1Lower write speeds will show a message and will not let you record in ProResFor backing up pictures and video it works perfect always use "Export unmodified originals" for better speed
