I have a burr coffee grinder that has a three prong convient plug. Somehow they did not ground the plastic container; which collects static electricity, and spews the ground coffee all over the counter top. l plugged in the Grounding cord with anti static (with out the grounding bracelet), and touched the plastic container with the alligator clip. NO more static electricity and no ground coffee all over the counter top!!! PROBLEM SOLVED!!!!!

The first one broke such that the cable came out of the adjoining piece that connects the wrist strap to the wall cable, hence, the low durability rating. I have a replacement now, but additionally, the alligator clip that comes with it has fallen apart and remains useless. Fortunately, I don't really need to use that attachment.The stretch seems good -- I am only about 5 feet from the wall and supposedly this can stretch 15 feet. I feel a slight tug mostly from the weight of the cable. What I really want is an ankle strap version, but I have yet to find it on Amazon.Anyway, I am presently using the replacement I received while I walk on a treadmill between 2 and 2.5 MPH while I am working at my standing desk. I have a keyboard that is made of metal (not the keys themselves, but the rest of it) and has RGB lights underneath all the keys. When I walk on the treadmill without the strap, I would often get shocked and the keyboard lights would flicker as the static electricity transferred to the keyboard. Now, I don't get shocked, however, I still see the lights under the keys flicker in response to receiving the static discharge -- basically, this thing doesn't seem to work that well.I need to find a better solution. I may return this and try something else.UPDATE 8-7-2020:It broke again in the exact same method as mentioned above. This thing is total junk and now I cannot return it.

Great product for the price. Highly recommend for the average user. If you deal with electronics on a daily basis or just casually, this is the grounding cable for you. I always believe in the saying "Better safe than sorry" so I bought this and I am very satisfied.

On the first day and with little tension against it, the white plug-end part came un-soldiered from the blue wire itself. Now I am sad.

I've used ground straps before when I was in to electronic circuit board assembly but purchased this for a different reason.I have a synthetic fabric couch and in the winter months after getting up off the couch and going for the light switch I would get a 1 inch blue spark coming off my finger...ouch!So this was convenient to simply plug in to a nearby outlet and I leave the strap on the arm rest. I place one finger on it BEFORE getting off the couch and no more zap to the system.

Got this so I could replace some components in my computer. I have a mat, but had no where to ground anything. Works and so far the components seem to be working.

I've purchased a couple of ESD mats and straps in the past but none of them were as good as this. Well made, quality piece of equipment. It is very affordable for this kind of equipment. Well made and should last.The cords are usually not long enough to reach an outlet without pulling the ground plug into a surge protector or extension cord, Nasafes grounding cord looks long enough. The extra straps are nice for plugging in ESD mats in addition to the wrist strap.
