Chickens looked scruffy & thin-This changed that.
My birds are thriving on this. They are filled out, their feathers beautiful & glossy & the birds are strong & healthy. I noticed they were enjoying the bits that were in their water, so began soaking the feed & that led to fermenting. While I don’t like it - the smell or the mess of feeding- they loved it so much & began to improve so markedly & were very content with this as their morning meal.So I provide it the way they like it. I add herbs & a splash of beef broth and a sprinkle of kelp on serving. And less feed is satisfying them. I also keep crumble in their automatic feeder for their second meal & in case I’m ever out of pocket for mealtime- which hasn’t happened but just in case. Egg production is consistently an egg a day per chicken!! And I love that it’s organic.

You can smell the alfalfa when you open the bag. My chickens love it and it's very healthy for them. 🥰

This should be labeled organic dirt with some scratch mixed in
I'd give it no stars if that were an option. I paid over $40 for a bag of dirt, and it's not returnable, so I might as well have just lit my money on fire. I was fooled by the 4.0 star overall rating, but in reading other 1 star reviews after I received this bag today, the bag of dirt is an ongoing issue. The bag is so much dirt or dust from the very top. I just opened it (refer to my picture in the bag), and it's as much dust/dirt as it is food. I put a scoop on a plate and took a picture, so you could see just how much there really is. It also stinks. I usually love the smell of scratch, but this smells like a hamster cage. I won't be feeding this to my chickens AT ALL. It's garbage and smells like it. Don't waste your hard earned money on this bag of dirt!!!!

Good but my chickens do not like the wheat grain. I will probably order something else in the future

My ladies love it, egg production has never been better
My Prarie Bluebell hens love this feed. They were raised on another organic feed but it became harder to get, and the quality seemed to have gone downhill. Then I found this!My hens had stopped laying because of feed I was purchasing at the local tractor supply, and to me it was obvious that it was THAT feed. Within a couple weeks of dumping that other feed and filling their bucket with this, my girls were back to their normal production and then some! I have one hen that lays 2 times a day.The feed is always fresh, and sprouts well when I do ferment it - which the ladies loove. Also with the paper packaging, it doubles as egg box liners!

Possible quality control issues?
I have purchased this for my chickens several times previously and it was great and they loved it. The last bag I received was garbage. It contained mostly husks and skins (the parts that should be thrown away in processing) my chickens won't (or can't) eat it. I should have returned it but the bag was open and I didn't want to deal with a possible mess in my car from taking back to the return center in my area. Let's hope the next bag is the quality they are known for.
