Very well done
Excellent, comprehensive look at modern zoos and their animals. It helped me tremendously as a reference when teaching this subject. I friend has since borrowed it to read because it is so well written.

Book is a valuable resource but the return policy did ...
Book is a valuable resource but the return policy did not take into account the Christmas holiday. I bought it and gave it as a gift, but the person already had it. Only received half the price upon returning it.

Key Book for anyone wanting to pursue a career in the zoo industry
This book is a vital resource for anyone wanting to go into the zoo industry. I am currently studying at College (Animal Management) and this book really helps for extra study work. It is easy to understand with the glossary in the back and google if it isn't an animal key term. Has sections on pretty much everything in the Advanced Technical Diploma in Animal Management First Year. It includes Nutrition, Behaviour, Health, Housing and even has parts on People who work in zoos. The boxes are really useful bits of information that are a little more specialist. I wish I had bought it earlier!

Perfect for my degree
Perfect for my degree, covers 4 units this year and have used multiple times, yes a little pricey, but you get what you pay for, seeing as this is the second edition Hosey, Melfi and Pankhurst has brought out, I love their work and all their journal articles, must reads for anyone studying animal management and behaviour. Definitely would recommend to any student studying animal management :D

must have for the zoology student
Incredible text book, easy to read, really interesting. Its essentially a degree level textbook w. Ref to zoos. Good starting point and contains a large reference bank, was written in 2013, so there are some really recent references too. Whole chapter on animal ethics - something that was bearly touched at my bachelors level, and is really relevant for my masters. Would really reccommend this book.
