Delta T17238-SS Lahara Shower Faucet, Without Rough, Stainless

The shower head pictured is made entirely of stainless steel and has a little tab to adjust the spray settings. The text says one can set the shower to "Pause, Full Body Spray, Full Spray w/Massage, Fast Massage, Soft Drench Spray." However, what arrived was a black plastic (not stainless) shower head that is not adjustable.

Hard to find a shower-only controller that will let you change the volume and temperature separately. Finally found this one, but the install directions made it sound like there was to be very little play in the temp adjustments - saying installers needed to inform clients that they might have to make seasonal changes to the settings, to account for varying temps in the cold water coming in. That set me on fire, but I was stuck at that point, having already installed the Delta controls behind the wall, so I went ahead and installed it, anyway.There's a gear-like device in the guts of the faucet that actually will stop you from adjusting the temp more than a few clicks, but I called them, to try to find out what the heck that was all about, and they swore that it would not stop me from adjusting the temp any way I wanted. I called them liars, and quoted the passage, but they insisted.Once I started assembling, I kept trying it repeatedly along the way - to ensure nothing stopped me from adjusting all the way. There were some gear teeth pieces left over, but it still worked, so I stopped there. It works. I can control the temp from all cold water, to all hot water, and from low volume to high volume. Yay! I tossed the other pieces, and got on with life.Pros:* Most important - It allows me to set the temp AND the volume! Yay!!* This is a nice looking setup. Very chrome-y, despite being a lot of plastic.* This is easy to adjust - using 2 levers, rather than knobs, so great for my Arthritic hands.* It lets out plenty of water, at least on the pelt setting.* It has an "Off" spot on the shower head, though it still trickles a bit.Cons:* CONFUSING directions!* Unnecessarily complicated installation, and parts.* Plastic parts. The vast majority of this is plastic, and it feels it. (But it looks great)* Shower head is fine, though not many options, and the "Off" setting still trickles.Overall, this was the best option I could find that would allow me to adjust temp as well as volume - separately. Not sure why Anyone would want to have the water on full blast at all times, but I'm not a fan of cowering in the corner while being pelted with water. Thanks to this, I don't have to anymore.

The handle is rather substantial. The .face trim is thin and flexible. The shower head seems cheap and the female end on the head that connects to the water pipe is extremely thin. I could squeeze it, um no, my grandmother could squeeze it and bend it in half. This is for a new shower. My current shower has a setup over 20 years old and is substantially more sturdy and still squirting water like a new garden hose.Not happy delta! This is cheap crap farmed out to china. I guess its a race to the bottom these days. Nobody wants to build quality products anymore.

We read a ton of reviews before picking this shower head and trim. We are very pleased with this choice. We knew we wanted to go with Delta as we loved our Delta shower head from before, and had heard from our plumber it's his preferred brand too. This shower head allows water to flow comfortably but not forcefully. This is definitely not a massager shower head. The shower feels relaxing but doesn't make me feel like it's taking longer for me to rinse my hair than our former more forceful showerhead did. We didn't think we'd care that the trim has two handles, one for pressure and one for temperature adjustment, but we both have been happy with this feature. It's nice to turn the water off without changing the temp of the water you're standing under to freezing cold (even just for that split second). Also you don't have to find that perfect temp spot the next time you shower because the handle is still in the same spot. By the way, Delta calls their nickel color stainless. That was confusing to us when shopping online. The stainless matches our brushed and satin nickel perfectly.

As a licensed general contractor I recommend and specify plumbing fixtures to clients on a regular basis. Delta and Moen are the most common brands we install. Delta 17 series has dual function, meaning you control both temperature and volume. I’ve yet to see the big box stores carry any product that has dual function, just temperature control only. Delta 14 series and Moen PosiTemp are temperature control only.I use the Delta R1000 rough-in valve body and prefer the ones with built in screw-stops. There are several R1000 variations based upon shower only, shower as tub, screw stops, copper pipe, NPT pipe or PEX. Be sure to order the correct one for your application.This particular Lahara chrome trim kit is decent quality, overall. I was disappointed to find that the tub spout is chrome plated plastic, not chrome over brass or even over die-cast.Unlike the last Moen trim I installed, this Delta kit does not have a parts list breakdown of what should be in the box & then check-list all of the components before installation.It’s good to verify that all components are on hand 1st in case a missing item needs to be ordered.

Looks and feels expensive and high quality. Water pressure is high, the handle moves very smooth and solidly,?? Not sure how to express that, it has weight to it and feels very well made. The finish is beautiful and I am very pleased with this and would recommend

This is a beautiful shower fixture set! We couldn't find anything quite like this one in the store and are glad we decided to order online sight unseen. The fixtures are just elegant and really make our shower look like it's worth a million bucks. We get constant compliments on these fixtures after the renovation. Hopefully they hold up well over time - only time can tell for that part.

I love the shower handle being able to control both water volume/flow as well as temperature. Delta makes some very nice products and the feel of the handle is very nice when you adjust anything you want while showering, not too loose, not too tight. The large handle does the volume/flow and is basically a quarter turn from off to full on so it's not like you have to turn the handle far to get your flow to where you want it. Same for the smaller handle mounted on top of the flow handle. The flow handle is metal. The temperature control handle is plastic, that's about the only questionable thing you could even consider with this set is the plastic smaller handle

I like that you can control the flow and temperature, kinda. The way its engineered it isn't supposed to fluctuate in the mixing valve. However that being said it just not hot enough for my liking. When I do adjust the temperature limiter it's so fine between too hot and too cold. Another point I really dislike is that the internal components are plastic, yet the handle is solid metal. So after a while of using it seems the teeth of the gear have been somewhat squeezed.For the price this is an excellent choice, just little things that are a bother. This is not the best shower faucet, but it's better than most. You won't be angry at this product if you do decide to get it.My favorite thing about this shower faucet is the soft soaker option. It is the equivalent of taking the most glorious adventure in the misty Amazon jungle. I could honestly just stand under the mist until the hot water runs out!

I am very disappointed in the pressure of this shower head. Only 1 of the 5 options provides remotely decent pressure. I would have expected better from Delta. That and the price dropped now $50 from the time I purchased which is irritating.

I ordered this product a year ago and was busy building our house. I should have looked at the order closer when it arrived because I did not receive the proper shower head. I received the most basic delta shower head instead, like a cheap hotel version. If you order check it carefully. I'm very disappointed that I did not look into it better and will be replacing the shower head.
