Nearly a year later, we're happy.
We installed these on all of our exterior doors ten months ago, and these locks are as-advertised. The locking mechanism is smooth and reliable, and they look good as well. The Z-Wave integration was a bit finicky and I often encounter problems when remotely setting new user codes, but by and large these have been a non-event.All three locks are on the original batteries ten months later (more on this below), and only the oft-used front door has dropped below 80% battery. Our home automations cycle these locks regularly, and we've never had issues with lost connection or failed network commands. Some cons: Adjustment and proper "tuning" of the door is absolutely critical. If the placement of the deadbolt is not absolutely perfect, you will be miserable -- the motor is not strong and it will eat through the battery in mere days. This was my initial experience before I educated myself on the experiences of others. I can absolutely confirm that adjustment and clearance must be correct; any significant contact with the deadbolt striker during mechanism movement will cause problems. Adjust the position of the closed door at-rest during the installation, and take the time to get it right, and you'll be happy.Separately; the plastic on the keypad face is faring poorly in direct sun. At this rate, the plastic face will require replacement next year; it is already degrading and flaking around the edges. That's normal in my desert southwest environment, though disappointing.Overall , we've been very happy with this purchase. Once we had it set up properly, they have worked every time, reliably, and without fuss or tinkering. The best measure of a smart-home integration success relates to how much time you spend supporting your tech. I've spent virtually none (remote user code changes via z-wave network excepting). It just works.

Easy to install and connect to Aeotec SmartThings Hub
No problems with this installation. Purchased an Aeotec SmartThings Hub for the Z-Wave connection. There are no problems with the lock install or its connection to the Hub. I do recommend you watch the video on the website which better addresses all the parts and installation steps. Lock is very solid and works as expected. Entering or changing codes can be done with the SmartThings app via the Smart Lock Guest Access features available by selecting Life at the bottom of the Favorites screen. The Hub was automatically recognized by Alexa and so was the Schlage lock once connected. Voice control is available but not something I will use. SmartThings app shows the lock status and battery condition. Local or remote lock and unlock is a snap. SmartThings app is very functional and does the job but not as comprehensive as the Schlage app for Wi-Fi locks. Once setup the SmartThings app will allow you to save only the lock to your phone home screen if all you want is a simple icon on the phone to lock or unlock the door.

Good products, but poor customer service makes up for it!
This lock was very simple to install. One screwdriver was all I needed. Had it configured with my home automation server, and routines were set up to automatically lock the door, unlock it, set alerts etc. Then 3 months after I installed it, the batteries died. So I replaced them. Then 3 weeks later, they died again. Replaced again.Only this time, the lock was dead. Tried different brands, rechargeable batteries, lithium batteries, you name it. Stayed kaput. So I remembered this has a 7 year warranty.I contacted Schlage to get some help, and they asked for pictures of it and certain things. They confirmed it had a 7 year warranty, and they'd have a new one to me in 4-6 weeks. I should receive it in the middle of July.6 weeks go by and nothing, so I reach out and request an update. Get told that it'll be the end of August at the earliest that it will even ship out. Four months from the earliest it'll ship to when I had a working lock, which is 50% of the time I've owned it.Billy May's here... And wait there's more!!When I get this notification, I email to let them know this isn't acceptable, and we need to see about a refund or some other form of warranty repair. And I'm told if I buy another one of these locks, and send the receipt, they'll see what they can do about refunding that purchase price to me.Main problem is that it's not current production, and would cost me $250. That's a no go for me. Tell them this, so what do they do?? Cancel my replacement order. This isn't my first schlage lock, and I've loved their products up until this one. This will be my last product from them, however. Their customer service in this case was horrible, and has me turned off to their company. Buyer beware!

5yrs, going strong. No complaints.
I bought this lock 5yrs ago. I've been very happy with it's performance. It integrates with Home Assistant via Zwave very nicely.
