Very visible during the day, good charging implementation despite usb-mini
I bought this item to try and do some basic drills with my pistol, and compare my experience to the more commonly recommended “red dot” sight.A common concern with pistol lasers is that they don’t “hold zero” due to having relatively little purchase at their mounting point. This product, which attaches at both the rail and trigger guard, promises better performance, though like most of this type you may need to add some adhesive connection at the trigger guard point, since there’s no clamp onto the trigger guard. This is a standard problem, the only real solution is to buy an OEM laser mount, a relatively rare product offering. The blue/red/light version is extremely visible in daylight, the blue laser visible even in direct sunlight. The charging port is a usb-mini that is on the bottom of the unit, so it can be charged even while installed, without losing zero. The usb mini is a slow charging option, pulling only 2.2watts, so don’t expect it to charge fully in less than a couple of hours. The device can be switched on while charging (it will then pull 2.4 watts on the charge cable), so while it might not be ergonomic you can always operate the unit if you have a usb battery. See attached photo of the power display of my usb battery charging the unit.Unlike some other small usb-mini charged batteries this unit does not require you to turn on trickle charge mode, as it draws enough current to activate any functioning battery with an old-style usb port. The red laser option is pretty neat with its spreading circle light, though at more than about 5 feet it’s very dim during daylight. Also while the light control is ambidextrous the laser power buttons are each on only one side of the unit. A right handed shooter can easily turn on the blue laser with their right pointer finger, but the red one would be tricky with one hand.

Great laser at a great price!
Excellent laser, made from aircraft grade aluminum mounts easily and holds on tight! I can see the green laser at least 150+ yards at night and 15 to 20 yards in the daytime. this laser rivals many other lasers at a much higher price point the IR function works well . When you take your pistol out of the holster laser comes on if you cover the IR button laser goes off- charging is completed with a standard USB cable and charging block.

rough edges, attachment screw, short batter life
First thing noticed was the large knurled knob on the single bolt used to tighten it onto the rail. It's knurled on the side so the bolt can be started by hand and avoid cross-threading, but the more it protrudes the more problems with any fitted holster you've been using. Also, the drive is a flat screwdriver but very large, bigger than any of my screwdrivers, maybe intended for a quarter US coin, but instructions didn't say so i used my biggest screwdriver and deformed the head so there were rough steel edges to erode the leather holster even more than the as-built bolt-head would do. Used a file to try smooth out the rough edges caused by using a screwdriver to drive the flat-screwdriver-head bolt with the tall knurled knob protruding from the left side of the gun into the "inside" of the holster rather than the "outside" of the holster. This choice might have been made so when right-handed people lay down the gun on a table as they usually do, muzzle left, the fastener is not gouging their table or tablecloth. The bolt head really does stick out way too far as compared to Viridian C5L. That could be totally unacceptable unless you want to dig a groove in your holster. And there's the battery life. When the battery voltage drops to a certain point the laser doesn't turn on but there's a small red LED by the charging hole that glows red to signal it needs charging. Well, it runs down pretty fast, like in a day, for my unit. After charging it all night at 5.0-5.2 volts I measured it accepting 75 milli-Amp-hours with a charging current of 0.09 amps and then dropping to zero and staying hard zero for 8 hours until it was unplugged. The IR sensor seemed to work fine just after a full charge but after playing with it going in to a black nylon adjustable holster that seemed to turn off the laser, letting it sit there for two hours would run down the battery to have no laser and just the red LED saying Charge Me. I cancelled the exchange for a new unit same of same design and found a Steiner Tor Mini.

Good Product
A good solid product, great buy! This is not a cheap sight it's for serious hunters and protection. I got this for my wife's shotgun so she does not have to take time placing the shot, works real fast and accurate still at zero

Bright and beautiful
The laser sight was easy to install. After a bit a work it was easy to sight in. It is even easy to see out to 25 yards but not necessarily on a bright Florida sunny day.
