As described
The plug was delivered as advertised. The pictures of the plug were accurate. The directions were found on the back of the packaging, but were rather small to read. I installed the plug in about 15 minutes with no issues. It was then tested and it worked. As seen in the pictures, one side of the plug fingers is wider than the other to differentiate between neutral and hot wires.

Totally Works. Description is Off
I used a pair of these to make lamps - adding a lamp base & light to some ceramic Christmas trees. They seem well made for what they are which is, a crafting-level product NOT something you'd use on a tool or outdoors. Note: the Amazon description states "no wire stripping" needed. I didn't believe that when I read it and as expected, wire stripping is 100% needed; you attach the wires to a normal looking copper terminal with a screw - no insulation-defeating miracle occurs in there LOL.

I had thrown it away! Until.
I had thrown this plug in the trash, but then, I put on my very best reading glasses and tried again. The "stops" are difficult to see. They are plastic. You do not have to strip the wires, just lay the end against the stops. Next, you'll have to carefully push the wires, one at a time, down into the very narrow channel. Be persistent, It will not want to go, but keep turning and pushing the darn thing until it goes in. When you close the lid on the wires, it is NOT going to cooperate. Force it down anyway with all your might. The screw is going to look too short, but it's not. Just keep turning the screw squeezing as you go until the wires are finally encased in the plug. Bam, it actually worked. By sheer force of my indomitable willpower, my lamp is now working. Hmf.

Used it to repair the plug on a vacuum...
Worked perfectly to replace the polarized plug on a vacuum. I chose this one because:A) It was polarized, a lot of replacement plugs aren't.B) GE is a decent brand.C) It had screws to hold the plug together rather than plastic clips. It's now April 2025 and it still works, nothing has broken or changed on it.

Terrible design
Worst design i have experienced. No way GE sanctioned this product. It is needlessly hard to turn the screws. The nut turns in the soft plastic it is held by especially as you open it more to allow the wires in.Very little housing to pinch the insulation to make a good mechanical connection that won't pull on the conductors.Waste of money.

2nd plug OK
Worthless! One terminal is so tight I cannot loosen or tighten. Not enough room under terminal screw plate to insert #16 gauge stranded wire. Tossed in garbage. Save your money.FOLLOW UP!Did something I am totally against doing....I bought a second, identical plug out of curiosity. After. all, dirt cheap! Identical to the first but still doesn't look like the picture on Amazon's site. But, it IS polarized as the first one was! This one installs just fine. Quality control was lacking on the first plug. I now have a $16 plug on my device. I gave 3 stars because I put the first one in the trash.

Extremely happy
The cord plug of my cherished old christmas star broke and this solved the problem. It was easy enough to change cords.
